I had an idea for a tournament that I thought could be fun. Would anyone be interested in this:

Once everyone signs up, whoever is running the even chooses a group of 5 cards that aren't played very much but have unique abilities (for purposes of this it'd be epics or lower rarities). You have to make 4 decks using those 5 cards, with the rules that across all 4 decks all 5 cards have to be used, and each of the 4 decks have to use as least one of them. Everything else in deckbuilding is up to you.

Then you play other people like a tournament using those 4 decks in a best of 7 series (no bans).

How about making a tournament where you can only have a deck that cost X amount of dust?

An extension of zombie chow would be fabulous in this adventure. Something legendary with that aoe to three attack like foe reaper and charge for 3 mana that gives your opponent 30 health cos lolbalance would be the greatest card control players could hope for.

I don't want to kill Aggro, just clip their wings a little. But doing something, anything, to lessen it's prevalence would be awesome.

What are people's thoughts on Loatheb in the current meta? I've always included it just because it's solid. Is it a must for mid range paladin or are there better options?

I actually don't run a Loatheb in my MidRange Pally Deck and I've been playing Paladin Exclusively the last two seasons. I feel like Harrison Jones is a much better Tech Card in that slot in this current meta (Hunters, Warriors, Shaman, Mirrors, Jaraxxus Warlock...hell, even some mages that run Blingtron!)

Theoretically you can run both, but I value both Quartermasters and Sludge Belchers...plus I run Captain Greenskin too in the 5 slot...just no room for the deck I run

i find it hard to believe that greenskin beats out loatheb in the current meta.
both oil rogue and mech mage rely on spells to get behind your taunts to finish the game.
shutting out a blade flurry or antonidas turn is huge against those decks.
the same goes for hunter to an extend. preventing unleash combos or kill commands from beeing played can be very benefitial on the other hand you dont realy want to remove too many threats with your weapon against hunter because taking face damage directly plays into his plan.

You running coghammers truesilvers or both with greenskin? I've experimented with that card and sometimes it feels like it's almost "too much" weapon if that makes sense.

I hate Harrison. He's good but I hate him.

I had Acidic Swamp Ooze in my Paladin deck for awhile, and the commentators thought I didn't own Harrison, but it was simply because paladin already has a bajillion things competing for the 5cc slot, and I wanted my curve lower. I figured a 2cc 3/2 is better than a 5cc 5/4 against mech mage.

Yeah, I run 1 Coghammer, 2 Truesilvers, and the lights justice Associated with Muster. I also run double Kezan Mystic in my deck, and in this meta it matters to have a weapon heavy deck with taunts as you wait to draw your Kezan mystics (which is why I run two...rarely have I not found an opportunity to use it...and often). I'm around rank 10 right now, and up to this point I've seen primarily face/midrange hunter, mech mage, and random classes sprinkled in there...maybe warrior was the third most faced class for me... I'm not gonna put loatheb in just to add some percentage chances of beating rogue...it's already a bad matchup and I still win 35 percent of my games against that class. Not enough rogue to change up my deck. Running Double Kezan helps with combos like "unleash the hounds" as often im stealing tempo away from aggressive classes.

Is Loatheb really a tech card? I think of it as a tempo card, and at quite an important stage. You find a small edge and you Loatheb - thatl edge on turn 5 in fast decks is an important edge.

Like anything, it all depends on the composition of the rest of your deck...for mine, it doesn't need it. Doesn't mean I don't think it's an awesome card that serves its purpose in maintaining board or limiting potential combos.

Loatheb is really great in rogue as a game cincher. It's such a good card it could be argued into any deck.

I agree (obviously). Maybe Dr Boom as well. Maybe Slug Belcher. These aren't tech cards, they're generalised cards where you need a reason to not include them.

I swap between Harrison and Loatheb on almost an hourly basis in my warrior decks depending on where the meta is at. Oil Rogue is the only deck that always has loatheb.

I think Loatheb is slightly better than Harrison overall though.

I'm making space for both loatheb and harrison at the moment, just as long as I see enough hunters to justify it. Right now I'm not seeing all that many and seriously considering taking it out. But never loatheb, it's just too good vs. all aggro.

For people wanting to hit legend: I'm winning just over 60% on the season, and I think I've been on the wave of mainly previous month legend players ranking up, so the competition should mirror the higher ranks later in the month. I got to rank 5 today, which is kinda the halfway point, and it's taken me 142 ranked games to do so. (Granted, I didn't start at 25 or 20, but 16? so it's probably just less than halfway)

It took me a lot more games last month to hit legend, but I also won at a slightly lower % rate. (I did experiment with more decks at the beginning of last season, and I think I'm getting better, obviously!) So... Point is, anyone who is making a run at it (who hasn't been there before, I guess) if you win at a consistent 60% rate (which is really good, I think) it should still take 300ish games to do so.

The tl;dr? It's a really long grind.

Just have to get better
