Druid pisses me the **** off. Literally every game they have the breath of dreams WITH an activator. Then they follow up with overgrowth.

I have played probably 100 games with dragon druid and I swear to god i specifically mulligan for breath of dreams + activator and get it maybe 10% of the time.

They literally always have it. Without fail. There’s only 4 dragons in the deck - 3 in some versions, I think - so it should be super difficult to open on 2 with an activated breath of dreams. Yet, they always seem to get it.

I’ve never been so close to quitting for good. Last time I took a year off, but I am pretty much done putting money into this game. Every win feels like a steamroll and every loss feels absolutely helpless. This game is trash right now.

If I were going to change Cannon, I would move it to Tier 3 and make it a 3/3.

Make it a little less common, but give it Bananas too.

It was really obnoxious and yea it did take a while. I am playing highlander hunter because I think it’s the best deck at the moment. It kind of beats priest up pretty badly, you have too many threats for them to deal with.

I did struggle with one guy who was running that build where they keep cloning that stealthed beast that gives you mana. But he played terrible, as priests typically do.

May finally hit legend. 2 wins away. I am feeling less bad about taking so long now, because I was listening to a podcast and someone pretty knowledgeable was saying with the way MMR works now, if yours is high, you can have a pretty savage grind to legend in the new system.

Wait what? How does that work? They have mmr before legend now?

Yes.

https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone...l_matchmaking/

Quote:
Q: How does matchmaking work for each season?

A: There are two matchmaking pools: matchmaking by rating (aka. MMR) and by rank.

When your star bonus multiplier is bigger than 1, or you are in Legend rank, you are (generally) in the first matchmaking pool; when your star bonus drops to 1, you are in the second pool.

Q: Why are there two matchmaking pools?

A: Since each player starts at the bottom of the ladder at start, we want fair matches for everyone (aka. win-rate close to 50%). At that time, your progression on ladder is protected by your star bonus, thus your net expected gain will be positive through the ladder. Once other players run out of star bonuses, matching by rank will allow for good players, or players who want to push themselves a bit, to be able to progress to a higher rank.

In short, having two matchmaking pools helps players progress in the ladder without having to grind as much, while still making most matches fair.

Lol. I reckon that reduces the chances of me ever playing ladder again from ~5% to <1%. Gaming companies always catering to the dumbest portion of their player base seems really stupid to me. Even the dumb players dream of being great. If you make being great impossible the dumb have nothing to chase.

Speaking of dumb. I just snatched 3rd from the jaws of 1st in a murlocless lobby by playing amalgadon on two health with double wrathweaver cos I forgot it was a demon. Guess it was inevitable I'd do it once.

This is the first deck I have ever been able to call my own. I borrowed the archetype, but I am running a lot of cards you don't typically see in this list.

I've played ~300 games with galakrond warlock at a 60% winrate before some nerfs changed the landscape of the meta in a way where I couldn't keep playing it. It's a solid archetype, but I think the builds people run are heavily unoptimized.

Here is the final version of a deck I am playtesting still but am confident this is the one:

### Jmakin Galakrond
# Class: Warlock
# Format: Standard
# Year of the Phoenix
#
# 2x (0) Sacrificial Pact
# 2x (1) Plague of Flames
# 2x (1) Rain of Fire
# 2x (2) Mo'arg Artificer
# 2x (2) Nether Breath
# 1x (2) Zephrys the Great
# 2x (3) Dark Skies
# 2x (3) Dragonblight Cultist
# 2x (4) Devoted Maniac
# 2x (4) Veiled Worshipper
# 2x (5) Crazed Netherwing
# 2x (5) Shield of Galakrond
# 1x (6) Keli'dan the Breaker
# 1x (6) Kronx Dragonhoof
# 1x (6) Siphon Soul
# 1x (7) Galakrond, the Wretched
# 1x (8) Zzeraku the Warped
# 1x (9) Alexstrasza
# 1x (9) Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

The core cards to this build, that I think can never change:

# 2x (0) Sacrificial Pact
# 2x (1) Plague of Flames
# 2x (2) Mo'arg Artificer
# 2x (2) Nether Breath
# 1x (2) Zephrys the Great
# 2x (3) Dark Skies
# 2x (3) Dragonblight Cultist
# 2x (4) Devoted Maniac
# 2x (4) Veiled Worshipper
# 2x (5) Crazed Netherwing
# 2x (5) Shield of Galakrond
# 1x (6) Kronx Dragonhoof
# 1x (7) Galakrond, the Wretched
# 1x (9) Alexstrasza
# 1x (9) Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

This is the core of the deck. This deck has a lot of cycle - if you can get off a veiled worshipper, you have a very high likelihood of activating zephyrys and dragonqueen around turn 10 especially if you have tapped whenever you can.

I consider Alexstraza a staple. It is so diverse - helps you threaten lethal on a lot of boards you generate, or healing in the late game against other control decks when you're down and low to fatigue.

2x sac pact is something I played with. I consider them staple, because you lose a lot of health playing this deck. Most games you are coming to the brink of death and rallying back. Healing is too critical to cut even 1 of these. In a priest meta, I think cutting one of these and playing a chef nomi is good.

Flex cards:

# 2x (1) Rain of Fire
# 1x (6) Keli'dan the Breaker
# 1x (6) Siphon Soul
# 1x (8) Zzeraku the Warped

Zzeraku is the super flex spot. It can be literally any card you want there. I think zzeraku is good because:

a) it is a dragon and you are hurting for dragon activators frequently in this deck
b) it is a late game card in a deck that can struggle in the late game against other control decks
c) it has synergy with rain of fire

Other options are Chef nomi - not a fan of how this performed. When you need it, you are SUPER happy to have it. Most of the time it feels like a win more card, at best it is an anti-priest tech. They never plan for it and it is a fist pump "i win the game" card in that matchup if you play it correctly. Rogue also goes to fatigue a lot, i like it in that matchup as well.

Kelidan the breaker might be core. Dunno. I find I always need single target removal, especially with all these paladins making a shitload of 8/8 divine shield taunts. That's why I added a siphon soul as well. Single target removal is really, really lacking in this deck. I may end up cutting zzeraku and going with 2 siphons, it's really that useful. I used to run a twisting nether but found that there is so much AOE removal in this deck, it was overkill.

The rain of fire's used to be mortal coils but I found mortal coil mostly worthless in this deck. It also has synergy with zzeraku.

Cards I cut that I will never add back - bad luck albatross. This is a bad card. This is the perfect meta for that card and it still is not that effective in the matchups its good in. It's terrible. Don't play it.

Sorry for the long post, but I love this deck and encourage others to experiment with it.

hah def done this

as an aside it's completely OP for millhouse to get it 1st turn. Makes him save a turn and saves a gold vs. not finding

I've done many dumb things in BG, I think the worst lately is knee-jerk leveling up Eudora on turn 2, which completely throws off being able to use the digs for the next several turns without wasting lots of gold.

Patches is my new favorite hero:

Obviously got really lucky with my rolls on that particular time, but I've done a similar build with him and gotten some 1sts and a few times when it didn't work out. But I don't think I've finished worse than 5th with Patches. With any other hero that I try to do a Pirate build with I seem to end up always finishing near the bottom.

Took 5th with a Dragon comp that was about to get really good. I feel that it's mostly due to taking 25 from Bartendotron on turn 9, on the back of his Golden Mal'Ganis and Imp Mama.

That's a hell of a hero power. We don't even have 10 gold and you've got a Golden Tier 5 with a synergistic Tier 6.

Lol that must have been an insane highroll. Possibly golden zerus? Bartender is trash though, millhouse is way better at power leveling and his levels cost 1 more.

I’m trying to imagine how that card isn’t broken and it’s really hard. Would a 4 mana “your opponent shuffles 3 cards from their hand into their deck see play” on its own?probably not but but it’s not a snap no. Now factor in the fact that it’s going to be run in decks that spew out cards and it basically reads draw 3 cards, you opponent discards 3-4 cards and also loses any in hand effects and also start again gathering combo pieces.

**** me I rarely have strong feelings in prerelease but this card is so good. . There will be turns where you start with an empty hand and your opponent has 9 cards and it ends where you have a board and card advantage and have discounted warglaives in hand. If you draw skull off this its 50% to be active! This set was clearly being made around the time of the original set

The card is the most toxic thing they've ever printed. I hated divine favor for the same reasons, and this is worse. More than anything else, this card will literally drive people away from the game if it sees play.

That said, I don't think it's good. Right now, spells that draw cards are the worst they've ever been. If the card draw doesn't cheat mana or tutor something, it really doesnt see play. This is 4 mana do nothing on board for an aggro deck. It's a huge tempo loss, and I have a hard time seeing how they make that up in hand disruption alone vs control decks. Not to mention playing this vs another aggro deck where you give them free cards.
