Weird I put priest at most powerful or 2nd most to warlock. Warrior is the worst for me because it does not interact with board and all the armor cards have historically sucked except the 1 mana removal.

Warlock is a special case - it’s so absurdly good it costs 2 mana + 2 health.

I was thinking a compromise for DH hero power could be that the DH takes 2x damage while it’s activated but maybe that’s overboard.

Likely upcoming changes to sac pac, albatross, felwing and Sunstrider. Gonna hit DH in arena as well as some wild changes to the way gate and Bloodbloom.

Albatross being a target for a nerf is silly, imo. Looking at the stats of the decks that run it - it’s consistently one of the lowest performing cards of the deck. It’s not even close to overpowered.

This is only about blizz pushing what decks they want to see in the meta: highlander, pure paladin, spell mage.

Bad decision imo, regardless of the nerf. Horrible decision if they do something like change it to shuffle 1 bird.

Gee blizzard, it’s almost like it was impossible to predict that the only destroy a demon card in the entire game (that also heals you) would play a prominent role in an expansion where the most busted cards are demons. C’est impossible!

Really silly nerfs that mostly miss the mark entirely. Albatross is a completely obnoxious card that doesn’t really allow for counterplay so I get it a little bit, but um, why are we nerfing cards from the only decks that are challenging demon hunter?

I'm sure Albatross isn't about its power level in a vaccuum. It's that playing against it as a HL deck or even a meme deck like spell mage or pure paladin, makes you feel incredibly bad. That bad feeling turns people off from playing the game even though most good players recognize it's probably the 30th card in the list. I'm sure it'll still shuffle 2 birds, but they'll probably hit its stats so you're actually paying a premium for that deathrattle now instead of essentially getting it for free on a finely statted 4/3 3-drop.

All the nerf candidates seem fine to me, assuming Altruis not going face is one of the "1 or 2 DH cards" that they didn't mention by name. I do slightly worry that without sac pac targeting enemy demons (which is really the only way to nerf the card imo), the main DH counter gets significantly weaker...maybe Altruis and another DH card being nerfed will help, but I have a feeling DH will still be top of the pack (which is maybe where Blizz wants it?).

I think they do want DHstone. Reading forum posts from filthy casuals, they absolutely love the class and get super heated about talks of nerfing it.

I’d say they havent really learned their lesson from the midrange shaman days. I know for sure I cannot take 4 months of this current meta.

after about 4 years of f2p casual playing this game I finally hit legend for the first time thanks to the incredible brokenness of DH and opening Maev and Kayn as my first two Ashes of Outland legendaries

making legend definitely a lot easier under the new ladder too - I have 32 total DH wins which I'm pretty sure is way way under par to make legend under the old system

Still an accomplishment, even with the new ranking system. I think it did used to be a lot harder but it was unnecessarily hard. If you’re a 53% winrate player you shouldnt have to spam 600 games to hit legend.

I think it’s really good for the game that legend ladder is more attainable. Legend ladder is ****ing fun and I definitely play a lot more hearthstone when I’m in it.

first time I got legend in 16 I felt like I had earned something, now you can just win streak to d5 with bonus stars and it takes like 10 wins from there lol

Do you play meta decks? I find it best to just stick to 1 or 2 decks and get very good with one. Also a subscription to hsreplay.net is highly, highly recommended because you can see what decks people are playing in real time, get mulligan strategies, matchup breakdowns, etc.

I dont use a decktracker anymore because I only play mobile and it doesnt really work on mac catalina, but my winrate improves by at least 3-5% when using one, which could be the difference between hitting legend and not.

No i'm mostly playing wild egg hunter. it's my favorite deck. I feel super disconnected with standard, I have no idea what the best decks are. I was super excited to play with the new lion and the 3 mana 3/4 that destroys your board and summons it again but it seems like there's no limit to mage and warlocks power in wild. I got egg hunter to diamond 5 but I've lost every game since.

I don't like decks with singular win conditions, i don't know what's good in standard. Is there good aggrodecks to spam?

Tempo demon hunter lol. If i were to play demon hunter though I’d play the version where it’s a little heavier on the higher mana minions like the demon girl and the 10/6 pew pew guy. Those **** up the control decks that are trying to counter you.

There’s a face hunter as well - it’s not a terrible deck but it has some abysmal matchups that are flat out impossible to win. But you can probably hit legend with it if you play it smart. in my opinion any deck can hit legend. I mostly played priest which was supposed to be like a 47% class at the time.

I am a filthy netdecker though that’s like all I do. I netdeck and then make tech choices based on cards I feel i’m never happy to have in my hand or on cards i sometimes wish i had in my hand.

I dunno man. I wouldnt give up, set a stop loss or something if you get tilty. For me I stop playing if I have 3 losses in a row.

My first game was a Priest vs. Priest mirror (31 turns), 30 minute game. I think I only ended up with 4 Convincing Infiltrators to his two. We were both Galakrond by turn 12 or so. Neither one of us played a single Mass Resurrection.

So much for "a few" games this morning. Time to get back to work.

I'm not sure what is going on. I'm on my 7th game today and I have seen 0 Demon Hunters.

At my middling level I'm seeing fewer Demon Hunters and more of that Libram Paladin thing which seems really strong. Got completely smoked by it a few times.

I finally invested a bunch of time in quest mage and I'm sure the nerf will make the deck 100% unplayable. Maybe don't print a card that gives extra coins? Or make the coin not a spell? Or don't print evocation?
