There are a lot of things I think I can sum up very quickly here:

1. Don't worry about the games where you just draw nothing and get beat down before even hitting 10 gold. There's not much you can do in those games.

2. However, don't give up! There are PLENTY of games where I've been in 8th at sub 5 health and come back to win.

3. After watching Bebe, I am quite sure that everyone, even very good players, are underestimating how much pivot room they. He changes his comp completely in the final 4 or even later.

4. Don't be greedy. When you are dying you must respect tempo and just pick the best units available. If you are losing early, just get to tavern 4 and buy good value mechs and stuff like hydras, Bolvars and buffs. That should stabilize you. (Unless you're demons, in which case you need to find your upgrades and stuff at tavern 3).

Whole bunch of Battlegrounds changes today including two new heroes, sped up animations, more stats etc.

Played a quick game with one of the new heroes that starts with 2 gold and pays 2 to refresh the tavern, but only pays 2 gold to buy a minion. Seems pretty strong, got 2nd without much effort in trying to figure out what I was doing.

Also found that Putricide is back, but now adds +20 attack to the first minion. There's also a new minion that transfers its attack on deathrattle, and someone in my game combined this with Putricide to pretty good effect.

seems demons are even more of the dominant strategy after the changes. that new taunt that spawns an imp with juggler is insane and everyone's just building massive self damage demons or sticky demons with juggles.

Yeah I don't understand why they added more demons when everyone and their dog was already taking them. Would rather they gave a boost to one of the neglected builds.

Other than that I like that they're keeping things fresh. And not having to wait forever for poison animations is an A+ change.

Well they did remove voidwalker. And demons really needed another 2-drop, although it's probably too good. Seems better than imp gang boss.

Demons have replaced beasts as the dominant mid-game strategy but it's hard to win with them. It's one of those things where 4 people going for demons means that 3 people are going to die early, usually.

I had a couple of really strong Lightfang builds today that did well. I can't say for sure that this is a good idea, as I finished second and I thought I was going to win both. But I beat a bunch of demon gamers with it and lost to mechs.

Every lobby I've been in featured Millhouse in 7th or 8th.

Really you should never be going for anything on turn 1. Now they've removed a demon that can win fights (Voidwalker) and replaced it with one that loses them, although it is quite strong later on. Now there are multiple traps in which you can take 5 damage early by going demons.

Played regular hs for the first time in months while binging a show and it seems no one cares about playing competitively anything like as much as they used to. Went from ~17 to 4 with 2 losses and there seemed to be way more tier 2 to 4 decks than you used to see back in the day. LoR can't come quick enough.

Two straight wins finally got me over 8K.

Note: No demons, and a deathrattle Kangor's comp with no Cobalt.

I think battlegrounds it too good and it's killing the game, no reason to buy packs anymore.
I play bg occasionally and arena lately, I have no desire for standard as it's only fun for 2 weeks after xpac.
Do you guys think battlegrounds actually brings paying customers?
It's possible it is, it's also possible blizzard didn't see this coming?

BG is still in beta, they may start charging gold or $ for it in the future

Congrats baudib1! 8k is worth bragging about from my perspective.

There was a streamer I watched who said that constructed seems like work now compared to Battlegrounds, and I pretty much agree. I play just enough 1v1 to get my daily quest gold and then it's off to BG to have fun.

I actually got to 5 firsts in a row before taking 7th with Lich B. :P

I am quite sure that Millhouse is terrible. I've watched a lot of streamers try to play him to no success. The best I saw was Sjow get 4th twice. In my games I never see Millhouse get higher than 6th. There might be a way to play him, but it's going to take a lot more experimentation.

Tirion I think is going to prove to be mediocre but interesting, kinda like Lich King.

I've really enjoyed Tirion, like trying to use minions you'd otherwise ignore and try and make them work even if it's not great.

I havent won a game since the patch this is brutal. I can sometimes scavange a 3rd.

Seems like there's a strategy evolving around Tirion that's pretty strong, which centers around Bolvars and other buffed shielded minions. I finished 2nd twice to Tirions that were using this strat.

Got Millhouse twice so far, for a 2nd and an 8th. The 2nd came when I didn't know quite what to do and just went mostly with the best minions offered. The 8th came when I tried to force a build, leading to a lot of re-rolling which of course doesn't work very well with him.

I'm not quite sure why I'm winning more with this patch but I think I have evolved my play style a bit recently to focus on not taking damage early and not being too greedy. There are definitely times to greed and to gamble but focusing on winning the next fight is usually the most important thing to do.

If they were to make one change to BG right now, I think they should move Primalfin back to tier 4. The chances of you just dying before you even get to tier 5 with murlocs is just so high it's absurd. Giving murlocs a boost after nerfing them 3 ways will balance the game quite a bit and counter the big-stat demon strat.

I just hit two megasaurs with brann and didn't hit divine shield. I then had a battle where I must have had a like a 1% chance of losing and did. I finished 7th.

That's really unlucky, it's almost impossible to miss divine shield there.

I've been doing well with murlocs lately.

I'm going to do a new hero tier list. I think Nefarian, who I once had as the top hero, is pretty garbo now.

Fun fact: ZeeJustin is #69 on the leaderboard, I was in a game with him the other day.

The RNG in this game sure can be frustrating at times. Had an Elise build that was very low on health but managed to get 5 poisoned/shielded murlocs with decent though not great hp, and was starting to hit a nice power spike with 5 left. Came up against a row of demons with two soul jugglers at the end, no shields on anything. Somehow managed to miss both jugglers with every single hit from my murlocs on multiple tries, and got eliminated in 5th. Could have used a Zapp or a cleave I guess but unfortunately had neither.

On the plus side managed a 1st with a Prof Putricide mech build, with a hydra in front which makes this hero pretty, pretty good.
