boom 2-0 with this deck at rank 4 even without the new reno.

Turns out Khadgar + Hogger is actually pretty solid, as is khadgar + leeroy + frost nova to choke their board, or Leeroy + Faceless for 12 face damage which i just did in this last game.

Griftah + Brightwing + Toki obv just fun memes with the added bonus of bouncing back with barista

I always hated the no duplicate concept from LoE, the power spikes were just too high. They’re getting it more correct this time, but it’s pretty weird that they’re not neutrals. Finley seems like far and away the best one. The hunter one is basically a second leeroy Jenkins for hunter. Elise seems pretty niche, having room to duplicate your hand is hard. Mage is LOL bad. I mean, it’s still a powerful card but there’s no way it overcomes it’s restriction.

I wish they would have just abandoned the concept.

It largely depends on the strength of the copies you run 2x of, running no duplicates helps when you have 2x of a card in your hand but would instead have another option if you hadnt had that 2nd copy of a card in your hand

disagreed, it's arguably better hitting minions because as long as you can math 10 health across their minions you're guaranteed to clear them

Paladin quest seems interesting. Nice value generation without being infinite. If reborn minions are a thing (and I think they will be), this should be good. Happy to see that control paladin is getting love.

I'd agree, but neither of these fit in any current deck, the synergy with hunting party will be strong though.

Hunters also have Emeriss so we may see a super buff hunter thing

Both cards aimed at wild. Not surprising standard mage gets almost 0 good cards when that seems to be the way they balance - really strong decks get almost no support the next patch (conj giants)

so far mage has:
Flakmage (secrets)
Cloud Prince (secrets)
Puzzle Box (random spells?)
Mage quest (cast 10 spells to get hero power: {2} get random mage spell discounted by 2)
Reno ({6} 4/6 Battlecry: Highlander 10 damage to minions board clear)

Reno already didnt make sense with the mage quest, and now we have a 3rd archetype in secrets

In standard, my ratings so far:
Flakmage: 4.5/5: It's a 'threat' card that you can curve to eat backstabs and such so your sorc apprentice or archmage arugula salad can live. An opponent seeing this card will hesitate to play anything with 2 health because they risk it being cleared for free on 3. Later turns has a bit of of use as a board clear, especially against unleash or microbots
Cloud Prince: 1.5/5 already calling this a bust. Why play this card when fireball is 1 cheaper and doesn't have a condition? May change if elemental tribe or some other sticky secret is revealed.
Puzzle Box: 3.5/5 if it doesnt work with mage quest and flakmage, 4.5/5 if it does. You'll be hard pressed to not either freeze their board or do massive damage to it, and usually you'll get about 10 mana worth of secrets+card draw or health. As with Yogg you'll want to play this when they have a stronger board or as a last ditch effort when they have lethal. Will be a lot more effective again if it works with mage quest or flakmage.
Raid the Sky Temple: 1.5/5 if it doesn't with puzzle-box, 3/5 if it does. The only current meta deck this would work in is cyclone mage, and they're rarely hurting for cards - especially when the game is often determined by turn 7. That said it's a fun effect and there's still a chance it gets more support.
Reno the Relicologist: 4.5/5 before considering you have to make a highlander deck. I'm thinking about bouncing this back with barista in barista mage if either reno or her is discounted, I think this card is being underrated - HOWEVER this again depends on how much worse your deck becomes if you make it highlander which at a minimum means cutting a conj and a mountain giant. I've been testing it on live and it does noticeably hurt (although you get to play fun cards like Brightwing)

few combos with pilgrim:
-Conj calling on an empty board gives 2 random {8}s and an extra copy of conj calling
-Frost Nova/Blizzard should give a consistent aoe freeze
-Pocket Galaxy in the early game
-Book of Specters/Arcane Intellect for draw.

This card is even better if it's already been reduced by pocket galaxy to fish for more draw of {1}s, or a frost nova/blizzard to get tempo back
