If anything it's fun watching token druid slowly dieing to having a full board

I have enjoyed a blast wave or two, but 5 mana is just such an awkward cost for a smallish aoe. Even if you back it with a spell damage minion you're just going to kill it too, so it just seems like terrible tempo at the end of the day

I've gotten comfortable with a spiderbomb control hunter the past few sessions. Quite often the other side of the board resembles some ww1 western front no man's land with all the deadly shots, bombs, and 5/5 rushers that rain down. Has its problems with zoo decks though.

I’m like 80% with control warrior after I learned the deck. It’s good against basically everything.

Yeah seems to beat everything except zuljin mech hunter. We could be going back to an old school rock paper scissors control warrior/midrange hunter/aggro meta. Searix how does giant mage do Vs mech hunter?

Just played what must be my longest control warrior mirror ever where we both got archivist from archivist. Over an hour easy. Was trying to remember what the turn limit was lol

Mech hunter is so good vs CW. Its so frustrating

Decided I really hate the warrior mirror. Do nothing for 30 mins till you find out who gets the better archivist. I put in brewmaster so my opponent can concede when we reach fatigue and we don't have to bother with the last bit. If brewmaster becomes popular im crafting zuljin.

top players are using a baleful banker so you still have the 7/7 on board

I didn't play last expansion at all and haven't bought any cards (nor am I planning to) for this one.
I'm just playing one arena run every other day to complete the quests.
Ranked is truly awfull, some decks have 25 classic cards in them, same stuff every 3 months.
Classic set needs to go, MTG has this right.
Haven't even bothered dusting the wild cards this year since nothing makes me want to play ranked.
From the few packs I opened I got lucentbark, elysiana and vargoth that was free.

Really depends on how much anti-big units they have, and if they can get off a whelp+dragon before you get off a giant+conjurer's or similar combo

Waggle pick + deadly poison is 2x 6 hits, playing it to break on turn 8 means leeroy x2 for 12, just a casual 24 damage 3 card combo

My list runs 2x omega 2x shield slam and 2x execute LOL nothing can outvalue me

What do you do vs mechathun warrior? Should at least run hecklebots to have a chance of cheesing out a combo peice imo.

mage technically can run like 12 big units in 2x astro 2x poc conj calling mount giants for 3 giants twice, in addition to getting conj calling off kalecgos and 2 mana dragon spell discover lady

and up to 3 khadgars with 2x messenger raven

Yea I mean the stars can align for them and you just lose. Frequently though they're not able to blast these crazy boards every turn and it's not uncommon to have at least 2-3 board clears in hand (or soft clears) with warpath, brawl, and supercollider. Supercollider alone can take out nasty boards if you have health to spare which you usually do.

Warrior wins by pressure which isn't that hard in late game due to omega assembly and boom. You're not trying to just outlast them into fatigue. Current control warrior plays a lot more fun than the old school one, now you can just overwhelm them with tempo in the late game and create situations where if they don't deal with something they lose. Rather than taking a deck with insane value and trying to fatigue it, which is stupid.

Bottom decking boom's probably a loss. It's not any worse than 50/50.

edit: just checked the stats and top control warrior is 56% against khadgar mage. Very abysmal winrate against khadgar dragon, which I expect, because the dragon version can flip boards with that deal 7 damage dragon and has a lot more board pressure early which can force you to blow your removals on a 7/4 and stuff like that.

I've almost come to the conclusion that baleful banker is a dead card in nearly every single matchup except the mirror, so I am going to take it out. I also think acolyte is not needed, frequently I have hand size issues which usually means you don't have trouble drawing cards. Not sure what else to put in here though. Maybe that summoning mech would be good.

Every great expansion I play a lot has a "deck" or archetype for me that I just really enjoy and then I try to master it, I think this one will be the one. I wish desperately for a priest deck that's fun to play so I can sink my teeth into that but it doesn't seem like it.

im fine with leeroy as is, but your response is a super overreaction lol. im not sure their intention with HoF, but leeroy legit has been in decks for YEARS, in the same way (as a finisher) and is a frustrating card. it seems it fits the exact criteria for HoF!

It was meant to be humorous. And it's partially not an overreaction. Team 5 has been whittling down cards by nerfing or hofing to the point that finishing games out has become harder. Even fatigue finishers like coldlights.

Aggro's prevalence reduces the 'fun' cards in hearthstone because you can barely play anything over 4 or you risk it being a dead card against aggro.

Sorting by hsreplay's winrate and going page by page looking for the first time i see a type of deck

#1: Zoo warlock 66% winrate
#2: Tempo rogue 64% winrate
#3: Control Warrior 62.5% winrate
#4: Bomb Warrior 61.5% winrate
#5: Token Druid 60.3% winrate (this was #1 last week but there's been a lot of anti-tech, just like rogue/warriors are facing a ton of ooze)
#6: Murloc shaman 59.7%
#7: Mech Hunter w/ Flark 59.7%
#8: Midrange beast hunter 58.5%
#9: Mech Paladin 58.4%
#10: Dragon Khadgar mage: 57.8%

So play aggro/have dr boom unless you want to lose 5% winrate by playing tempo, or lose another 5% winrate if you want to play mech pally/mage.

The problem is for example the top zoo deck is using Bloodsail Corsair



This is our #1 ranked deck guys, 25 of 30 cards are 1/2s

I think Dr. Boom, Mad Genius is outvaluing a lot of decks so just go aggro and try and win before turn 7
