I am very aware that I’ve spent probably over two grand on this game but I’ve gotten more than 5000 hours out of it (maybe more) so it’s really hard to complain about that. And I didn’t even need to spend that much, it was just because as I got a little older and busier grinding became less appealing and i wanted to play t1 decks RIGHT NOW
It’s hard to complain about cost of games like this when fortnite has like 2 billion revenue on cosmetic microtransactions alone. People obviously are willing to dump loads of cash into games they enjoy.
Edit: i am probably way overestimating how much ive spent on this game
Artifact has 700 concurrent users and it just came out, it was supposed to be the hyped new card game. But the model is upfront cost + buying decks. In comparison to a game that costs $60 upfront as a one time cost + maybe 20-40 in DLC are you having 20x more fun paying $2000 for hearthstone? I have 262 hours into Slay the Spire and paid $5 for it.
I dunno I guess im just saying card games are ripoffs and only because they're designated as 'card games' people seem willing to drop magnitudes more money on it than other, arguably better games
