I have never once in 8k wins queued a ladder game with a deck I made myself lol

I'm eh on this meta and I'm not even sure what I'm missing. I wanted to hit dad legend before it came out so I could screw around at 5 and not get punished, and I did that. I made an awful handmage that is terrible but fun when it hits, have played evenlock mecha, no interest in the priest OTKs, took up tempo mage with the right hand card lady, some stupid pogo rogues, mech paladin and bomb hunter, an odd druid (no interest in maly bs), golden whizbang, searix's big mage where i always miss the 4 mana hit a 5 mana card, i dunno. What am i missing? Gimme something fun.

How do you possibly beat any Druid without Mossy Horror? I feel like it is such an instant loss. Doesn't help that I never Mulligan into spellstone.

re: streamers, I don't really play HS anymore, but I still watch some streams, they are really relaxing for some reason. My list:

1. Dog
2. Kolento

(both are waaay better than the rest)

3. Savjz
4. Firebat/Reynad (both stream very irregularly, but Ill watch them if they do)
5. Hotform (not competitive, but very chill, nice atmosphere)

honorable mention: Thijs, lots of respect for playing tons of cool decks and doing well with them, but he is just soooo annoying, I have to watch him on mute

Picking the right beasts from DS Rexxar is pretty key. Unless it’s token Druid they never have enough pressure to actually kill you so you can just keep making big **** and they run out of ways to deal with it. I can pull some hsreplays later tonight and link some games. I think overall Druid is a slight favourite (spell hunter is 49% against all druids) but all of the Druid archetypes are beatable

When you watch thijs through a lens of him maybe being a little bit on the spectrum it’s kind of endearing

Crafted golden Whizbang and never looked back.

Spent the first couple of days of the expansion cruising to Rank 5 with the old odd pally list (subbed in Kangaroo bot and the 1/3 mech as well as wargear for another power 5 option) and once there I just played golden whizzbang decks. I'm actually up to Rank 4** with it now lol but I don't intend on making a serious push. It's really refreshing to play, and having all gold cards & Hero as a F2P player.

But basically I'm done with Ranked competitively this season. Arena & Whizbang ftw

For actual competitive content I think Asmodai is one of the best streamers. He's a bit gimmicky for the fans (dabbing, saying nonsense words etc.) but he actually will read your comments and reply if you're not spamming and he plays competitively to legend every season, doesn't really **** around with bull**** decks.

Toast used to be very entertaining (and less competitive) but he hardly plays anymore and is getting greedier with his IRL streams.

I actually like Thjis if you ignore the voice. He actually proves he's very smart some times.

I enjoy Kibler too although it can be boring at times. I think he's the perfect mix of competitive but fun HS streaming.

There are way better AND entertaining competitive streamers than asmo that don’t come with all the annoying crap. And the constant accusations of sniping get tiresome after a while because often I don’t think it is even happening.

He’s also a total ******* to his opponents.

Checked my stats. Lost my first 3 games against Druid as Spell Hunter and since then have gone 8-2 (8-5 overall).

This is like the ideal game where I draw perfectly and beat basically all his best cards.

Mechathun is a boring card and decks that run it are boring as ****.

I ran into two mechathun priests in the last couple days, both as it happened I realized I just couldn't do anything against it.

Agreed. These “solitaire” combo decks that just destroy control decks are really terrible. They just shouldn’t exist, they’re horribly unfun to play against. There’s no counterplay or strategy other than kill them before they get their combo off.

A good combo deck should have a certain amount of reach, and the control games vs those decks should be about knowing that reach and playing around it with calculated decision making. It’s always going to be unfavored for the control deck, that’s just the nature of the game. But it shouldn’t be a 9:1 or worse matchup.

Blizz’s answer to this of course will be to print a dirty rat style card next expansion, which is just an answer to a problem that shouldn’t exist. (Not that cards like dirty rat shouldn’t exist, I like cards like that.) Which will allow control decks that tech it in to turn a nearly unwinnable matchup into a lock win when they use the tech card right. Which is also dumb.

Haha I watched some thijs while eating some breakfast and thinking of this just made me laugh. He's just a kid but definitely an odd one. Good player though.

I just opened this as my first legendary of the new expansion. One can always throw it randomly into a normal deck and hope it goes off organically.
