after watching the early Boomsday playing thing today, Magnetic is beyond busted and this is going to be a Silence Meta

I kinda hate how people have been playing with the cards already, kinda takes away from that figuring out what's good on the first day and experimenting with stuff aspect which is like the best part of hearthstone and the funnest the game can be hands down. I mean obviously the effect is minimal really but I feel like it speeds up the process of the meta becoming solved before I've been able to play.

I watched a bit but I think they missed a lot of (good) cards, only had boomsday + classic iirc. Didn't have good board clears etc which obv makes those decks a lot stronger.

I agree but as far as building big minions, etc... magnetic is stupid op. it's just Blessing of Kings repeatedly (aka CHARGE) which is so annoying

i mean, there are plenty of ways to remove untargetable minions. targeted minion abilities still work, (silence, vilespine, voodoo doll) and there's a "destroy a mech" card that was printed.

It's also still susceptible to big AOE clears.

if that destroy a mech card sees play in a competitive deck I'll eat my ****ing hat

Was thinking about HS after seeing articles about the expansion dropping.

I feel like HS Tournaments are missing a golden opportunity to have a really cool and interesting format. To me, what the game lacks in in-game execution it makes up for in opportunities for impromptu deck building.

I think the Classic/Wild schism is fine for ladder play and regular play, but would love to see a tournament with this format (say for a bigger tournament like World Championship). I’d assume something like this has been done in MtG or some other CCG.

8 rounds of pool play

Each round starts with a selection of X number of cards from the game and Y number of class cards in the available pool. Players have 2 hours from time they get the available cards to build their decks. They can make switches between games. Every round is a round robin of Bo5 matches. Top 2 from each pool Advance to KO round.

To me the interesting strategic aspect of the game is deck building and not execution. This places much more of the strategy aspect on building decks and making adjustments than just running two top tier decks into each other game after game and seeing who RNG’s the win.

Sux, on vacay until Sunday and can only play very intermittently on mobile over that span. I hate opening packs on mobile lol.

Wow they only added 2 cards to the 10 mana minion pool—mecha cthun and the Druid rush card that discounts for tenants that have died. Seems like they should have added a hardcore **** card for low rolling that had a battle cry or an end of turn effect that is hard to have.
