it took people 2 months to refine decks and the meta didn't even really settle after then, just pre-existing archetypes were proven to be strong still.
for example, iirc pirate warrior (deck i got top 200 with yewwwwwwww) ended up having basically no bad matchups but it took the meta an absurdly long time to reach this equilibrium. I think this was due to stuff like quest warrior stifling it for the first month or so. for some reason it took people a long time to figure out murloc pally was good also. classes and decks came and went as late as 4 months into the expansion **** still hadn't really settled down.
Quest rogue was ****ty for about what, 6 weeks? but it was nerfed quickly-ish and since it was a difficult to play deck with extremely polarized matchups, it didn't really shake the meta up in a really horrific way, to my memory anyway. it was easy to counter for free wins if you were queuing into too many of them. it was more oppressive in the tourney scene, imo.
