Its not a bad matchup for freeze mage if you run evolved kobold version that can easily otk.

I have played quite a bit freeze mage kobold version and found paladin relatively easy match up because of this.

I think the paladin are a little relaxed that they have all this healing and I stalled game. Emporer gets slammed down get the discount and next turn have OTK

Happened 4/5 times now actually, the only barrier to winning is not cycling through the feck quick enough or having block popped too quick.

It's a really tough deck but v control warrior it's an auto concede as soon as justiciar comes down

I was watching laughing stream and in 2 games he conceded as soon as warrior found justiciar.

Really not true check out laughinghs stream he just did a review of last call matches involving freeze mage. The analysis is very good and goes pretty deep.

The skill needed to pilot the deck well is insane and often the mage is planning 2/3/4 turns in advance which is why a lot of people bank. Turns are not automatic at all its prob the one deck that does not auto play itself at all.

Fwiw I suck badly with this deck have played maybe 50 games and am at about 45%. Mainly because it's soo hard to pilot well and 1 slight misplay means losing.
I'm getting better but still not good at all you need alot of practice with it.

I was talking to laughing on twitch while watching some top streamers play his freeze mage.
He was saying they suck really badly with it and were misplaying tons which makes me feel better.

There's definitely a lot of skill involved in a lot of turns, but not more so than Renolock or Maly Druid, IMO. (But I don't know anything)

But anyway I am talking about them tanking on turn 2 drop Loot Hoarder and turn 3 drop Acolyte; turn 7 flamestrike when on turn 6 you pinged my 5 health minion -- we both know you are flamestriking so literally WTF.

The tempostorm and syndicate rankings vary so much.

I think nowadays Reynad basically is running the entire show

i can hear his whiny voice on all of the deck write ups now

i tend to trust VS because it's backed up by actual hard data whereas tempostorm is generally reynad's opinion on what things are good

I also think Maly rogue may be slightly higher than the gutter, its matchup is not bad vs MR shaman, especially if you tech in skulker. Totem shaman is a slight dog I think if you can spot it early and aggressively take down totems before they buff them.

haven't really had any matchups I completely dread other than zoo

In general I trust the VS rankings more but the freeze mage difference does make sense since it's one of the most difficult decks to play and VS is based on winrate. So anyone who is inexperienced with the deck is going to tank the WR more than they would with say dragon warrior.

Just had a satisfying win over a fatigue warrior with priest. Held onto both priest of the feast's and a bunch of spells and managed to survive even when taking 10 fatigue. His yogg (?!) shadowstepped itself with a full hand causing him to burn the golden monkey so he had nothing left he could actually play. Later his yogg cast vanish as the first spell, and then later shadow word death on itself as the first spell. PRAISE YOGG!

I also held rag until I was at 7 fatigue damage.

mid shaman over 56% now on live vs snapshot, even worse than before, gj with the balance changes blizzard

There have got to be ways to fix mr shaman. Make thing from below only discount in hand. Maybe make malestorm 3 mana.

This was predicted due to yogg being the only thing really keeping them in check

Yeah that freeze mage list seems prettttttttttay good right now. I'm admittedly terrible at freeze and went 11-6 so far - faced 0 warriors. I was farming rogues and warlocks mostly. Druid seems to be a not great matchup either between portal/feral and random other heals from raven idol. I definitely ****ed up a couple games too where I didn't plan my damage well enough and cost myself 2 or 3 games. The OTK and 2 turn kills just feel disgusting.

are you guys talking about aggro freeze which is like a tempo mage with the freeze mage core, or the new freeze mage running evolved snobold which is kind of like the old zeus package?

if it's actually good I may give it a shot again because i was pretty good at old pre-standard freeze mage but i feel like playing without the mad scientist crutch is like playing with one hand behind your back with the deck.

i love stall/combo decks and can't recommend trying maly rogue out enough, it's performing decently well for me. like 22w 6 losses at garbage ranks

Google laughing freeze mage for the list. Think he hit rank 7 legend or something with it and had a 75%+ winrate v shamen.
