Don't most aggro pally lists run divine favor though and this card is a version of that as your said.

We've seen corrupt, transformation, force play cards in the past that affect the opponents hand, some of those are good strategy. This card just seems feelsbad so much.

They did, but that was before the scam meta that we have currently. Divine favor also wasn't that good of a card, fwiw. This is more expensive in a meta that is more hostile to pure draw without mana cheating. Right now, cards that only draw cards generally don't see play, they're just too slow. I mean, rogue has a draw 3 spell for 3 mana (1 with prep!) that doesn't see any play because it's too slow.

I could certainly be wrong - the hand disruption might be enough to make this card viable. The combo turns with skull and mana burn might make this good enough. I just have my doubts. Generally speaking, cards need to be good on their own without a combo to see play, in most lists. Take rogue for example - they had the ability to draw up to 7 cards for 0 mana. Yet, the best lists didn't run a bunch of high mana cards, despite the highroll possibilities because when you drew them at their full mana cost, they were just too bad. I think this card ultimately will suffer the same fate.

Also, just to be clear, I agree that this card is awful design and just should have not been printed. It will make games horribly unfun and drive people away from the game. Also, this card is toxic enough that people will run it just to be *******s, even if it makes the deck worse.

I play Demon Hunter sometimes and can't imagine ever putting that card in my deck. But maybe I rely on combos more than most.

It’s one of those cards that won’t see play but its mere existence ensures that certain decks will never see the light of day.

It’ll also be discovered, which makes it even more annoying.

It seems so strong to be able to disrupt the other deck's plan. If they use a bunch of resources to build a big hand, you can mostly negate that and leave them with just a few cards, maybe having answers, maybe not.

That’s what I’m saying. Even in midrange imagine the card just reads discard 4 cards from your opponents hand, draw 1. And it’s not like a lot of other disruption where it’s somewhat random, this isn’t dirty rat occasionally pulling a death wing. I know the result each time I play it.

No clue what constructed looks like these days but that card looks super strong in any aggro deck. Been ftp smurfing cos i'm bored and locked out of my main account. I think arrana is significantly underrated atm. Definitely not good but maybe low tier 3 instead of low tier 4. Getting 2 extra minions per roll is really good and now that menagerie is decent tripling into bran/lightfang and staying on 4 for menagerie buffs is a very viable comp.

After some more thinking I still think Glide is very strong. Like Jmakin said, it’s existence at all is pretty awful for the meta.

That said the bigger problem is likely to be kreen.

Kreen, even though it's a legendary, will wreck arena. There was a three mana neutral card (deathspeaker I think?) that gave one minion immune and that was broken.

What on earth is this crap? Repetitive/constant immune effect? ****

Thank God for BG to save me from DH in arena, though I'm not sure if it's as broken there as it is/was in constructed? Haven't played arena in a while...

Just beat maxed out 50 health divine shield, poison, deathrattle murlocs using demons with no weaver/watcher. golden baron plus golden deathrattle attack buff 1 drop is a surprisingly good combo. Plus selfless and ghoul obv.

Way too early© Mage card review:


4.5/5 Mages have actually majorly struggled with 1 health minion spam (relying usually on blizzard or a pseudo clear). Almost passes vanilla test. Oh, and the effect deals damage to the opposing hero so it can also be a win condition if we get enough spell damage.


3/5 (pending more support) I think a lot of the time this has to be played on curve with no spells. So how good is that?

Worse now mage is suddenly overpolluted with 5 drops. Think Malygos, Big Ol' Whelp, Rolling Fireball, and now all these new 5's. That said mage excels at throwing down minions that scream 'kill it now' and this is one of them.


4.5/5 I'm expecting a lot of value out of this. Kill a 2/2? Now you deal 2 damage to the sides of that minion. Obviously gets extra punch from spell damage so that's nice.


4.5/5 Will definitely be used in cheap spell decks and as an activator. Pairs great with other mage cards released so far. Also mage's first cheap silence effect it's ever gotten.

5/5, will be in most mage decks Mage has so many cheap activators. Arcane Breath, Ray of Frost, Frostbolt. Then medium activators in Combustion and Rolling Fireball(!) for possible multi-steals. Oh - don't forget this can targe your minions


4.5/5 Imagine using this against aggro - suddenly this becomes a 1 mana draw 2-3 (and glide prevention!) where you discord your 'dead' cards that are too expensive. Or, if you're playing control, draw for value. Amazing card, just frustrating if you find this card late else this would be a 5.


5/5 This card does it all. Quest mage support. Dragon support. An amazing over-statted body. Learn Draconic support. Probably my sleeper card of expansion.

I guess the highroll is it hits one of the new legendaries, but man this can just pop out duds a lot of the time. Holding off rating in case they give it more support, otherwise around a 3

Amazing synergy with Jandice Barov possibly making it a 4.5/5 card

Potion of illusion is super cool and fun, but most likely a bad card that will see no competitive play. Should produce some nice highlights, though.
