they updated some of the DKs to include the battlecry weapons like Paladin and Warrior. Doubt it's enough though to beat all the Mages. The annoying part is the quest after you play 40 frozen throne cards is to win 5 brawls. I'd play other classes but if all I do is queue up mages, **** if I'm not playing as mages as well.

Yeah I've pretty much given up on the second quest. Hate to let 300g go to waste, but really have no interest in a bunch of 30 min mage vs mage games.

You don't have to play out the match. Just mulligan for a 1 mana 1/1. If you miss it, you concede and requeue.

queue up wild for the first time in a wild, i play reno warlock--i queue into 3 aligner druids in a row. seriously WTF is that ****. what beats it because i will play it every game till these ****ers are gone.

Decks with dirty rat and even shaman beats it, so naturally the meta is 100% those decks and druid.

Had one rat, pulled one of the aligners and still got ****ed on turn 9 by a 5-7 card perfect combo each time. It’s dumb.

you know what i love? spending 15 days slowly creeping bit by bit going from 5 to 3 with a non meta deck, only to go back to 5 in two days playing a meta deck

This game is so tilting sometimes. I have an 8/8 taunt, 5/1 and 3/1 and my opponent has 4 minions and the two heroes. He plays a YOLO bomber and hits my 3/1 and 5/1 and one of his **** units. His ordering was of course a joke and of course he nails me.

The trick to Climbin from five to legend is often to play a deck that slightly off meta, either with tech choices that fit what you are facing or by using a deck that counters a lot of the main deck that people are playing. I have very rarely had success playing the top deck pass rank five, because you run into mirror matches or people trying to hard counter you, or decks that have very aggressive and nonsensical tech choices that are basically just spite cards against your deck . A lot of times countering the counters works very well too.

I don’t think any of the dozen or so times I’ve hit legend I’ve ever done it with the top tier deck

A good rule of thumb for me, when I am playing this game a lot and extremely well, is that if I can figure out the top deck before it gets published on VS I’m doing good. If you wait for the VS report to change decks you’re going to be constantly behind. For this reason I really like HS replay premium because you get live statistics. But I like to take a statistics driven approach to the game, most people really hate that idea

Also don’t be afraid to throw in your own cards and make substitutions. That’s the biggest thing I wish I told my self in the first few years I played this game. I mean look how long it took even warlock to figure out that doomsayers should be cut. There’s a lot of wiggle room even in refined decks. Sometimes I get rid of cards that I know I just don’t play very well.

Hit or miss, it almost certainly seems worth the $20 to give it a shot. Especially since I find myself growing slightly fatigued with HS.

I have a Hearthstone list on my twitter that follows a lot of the high content streamers/pros (aka I'm a netdecker, haters gonna hate) and a few have posted about Artifact being very good. StanCifka being one.

I just can't come to terms with spending money on a second online CCG, especially if it remains to be seen if anything can really take down Hearthstone as the most popular. I think I'd more likely quit HS and devote time to other gaming than start up paying for a new CCG.

I don't think Artifact will be much of a competitor to Hearthstone.

1) It's not F2P and has a high barrier of entry. It has no grinding, no in game currency and content can only be acquired by spending real money.
2) From what I've seen it is complex with 3 lanes and seems like you need to put a lot more effort into playing it than Hearthstone or any of its popular clones. The fact that people like Lifecoach are singing its praises does not point to mass market popularity.
3) The CCG market has probably peaked and adding another competitor at this stage is unlikely to expand it.

That being said, I think they are trying to position it as the Dota2 compared to Hearthstone's LoL. Dota2 is more hardcore than LoL and is less popular but has carved out a solid niche and has the highest prize pools for its championship tournament.

Ive never got into any ccg other than hearthstone. Ive tried alot of them, just never caught me. Dunno anything about dota or artifact.

A bunch of pros keep praising it but maybe just they are burned out a bit on HS.

Just look at MtG and all its competitors. What else is still around today in the physical tcg world? Pokemon and yughioh I guess, but they target a completely different market segment. Artifact is aimed at the same players as HS.

Hearthstone's problem imo is too many decks are simply unfun to play against. That's what it really comes down to. Whether it's getting high-rolled by a OTK Deck that wins by turn 9 or an aggro deck that has 15/15 worth of stats on turn 3/4, it's hard to want to play.

Maybe next expansion will do better but this has been the first i didn't spend money on. I'll still be playing the next one but i'll need more to drop money on an expac at this point.
