I have had some truly amazing and fun games with control dragon priest in the last few days, even opps have added me with friendly chat afterwards.

Then I just queued into three straight jade druids at rank 12 and I wanted to stab my eyes out. Instant losses.

i love dragon control priest so much but i'm doing something wrong i think. my winrate tanked and i almost fell to rank 5. sitting at rank 3ish now but i was practically legend a week ago. i haven't done the reverse climb in like a year at least.

kind of just want to sit back and wait for the expansion and play some games in my backlog. Not gonna look at card previews or anything, that strat has been working pretty well for me in terms of my enjoyment of this game. I like opening packs on release day and actually reading the cards like "oooo! what's that???"

this expansion I did that the most. There are legendaries I've seen in real games recently that I had no idea were even cards.

The Twilight Acolyte & Pint sized Potion with Cabal and Shadow word horror shenanigans is too fun. Pulling that when you know villain is not expecting is great.

that kind of loses its appeal when every deck starts to run skulking geist and they play around every imaginable combo unless you actually don't have the combo in hand

I like Jade Druid mostly because it's off meta right now (even with all the Priests out there) but it's kind of funny when I get Geisted by someone that I imaging is actually teching against Priest OTK's.

I haven't seen too many Skulking Giests lately.

I played a hunter with geist at rank 13........

27-14 with Jade Druid getting me to rank 6 and I've seen maybe 5 Geists.

2nd Edit: I'm not a fan of playing whatever deck is super meta ATM, but I have 2 golden Jade Idols, and Priest is everywhere, as denoted by Edit #1.

Yeah jade is definitely still very solid. Branching Paths is a really annoying card, situationally it is handy and just the usual 4 mana gain 12 armor is flat out good.

The card is strictly bad in most match ups. Unless there's a buttload of droods running around I wouldn't play it. Against locks I really don't want that in my opening hand and I don't want to see it at the bottom of my deck.

I only play Control, the best way to beat Cube is to remove their ability to pop Cubes when they want. It sets them back massively.

It also ruins the dragon combo decks which is extremely popular right now. It ruins combolock as well. Those three decks are hugely popular.

i think geist is fine

let's see how will all the people saying stuff like "this is the worst meta ever" for the last year (when we had the best meta ever, minus razakus maybe) react to seeing 70% facehunter on ladder with the new Justicar card

e: im not saying that it will be the strongest deck, since we obviously cannot know that without knowing all the cards, but it will be definitely good at the start, before the decks get refined

Has there ever been a meta that isn't the worst ever? When have people ever said "The current meta is dominated by a diverse array of fun and balanced decks."?

I did go ahead and craft another Branching Paths and took out one Wrath.

I don't think I like adding the Spellbreaker since you would feel bad getting him from Oaken Summons, and I'm not sure what types of targets I would feel good about silencing, other than maybe the Warlock Lackey, but that matchup is so bad that I don't think Spellbreaker is going to have a meaningful impact on it.

I play controllock and beat cubelock most of the time. I do run geist in that deck but rarely do I have it at optimal times in the game. Like if it is in the bottom five I'd rather have anything else that fits. That was my point.

Gloomstag-2/6 taunt beast-5 mana-if your deck only has odd cost cards, gain 2/2.
Blackcat-3 mana 3/3- plus one spell damage. If your deck only has odd cards, draw a card.
Murkspark eel-2/3 beast —mage 2mana—deal 2 damage if only even cost cards in deck.

Moth seems good. Gloomstag seems like a good defensive tool.

I think the druid and mage ones are solid. New azure drake.

Not sure any of those are worth the restriction tbh.

I mean, obv there'll be other new similar cards but gaining 'deal two damage' on a 2 drop isn't going to really compensate for the lack of 1 and 3 drops.

Take it as read that you get a one mana hero power in any deck that card would see play. So you get a slightly overpowered 2/4/6 drop and a hero power on the off curve turns.

First two months of ungoro.
