I really think I might have placed in the top 100 arena rankings last month. I played ~400 games with a 67% WR which should put me easily at 6+ average.

Not a huge sample size as I didn't start tracking immediately but I have a 76% winrate over my last 9 runs (94 games).

Edit: Realised that is including the free win we've been getting, adjusting for that makes it 73% from 85 games.

My last two runs had total opposite reward RNG:
11 wins 470 gold
9 wins 160 gold, common and a golden common

I've seen some amazing plays in the last few weeks.
Arena has never been softer.

Hope they run multiple frost festivals a year.

When constructed players play arena its like when tourney players come and sit in a deep cash game.

What? I think constructed players play arena well. It's more like when arena players play constructed, imo.

I think the edges are bigger in arena because it's not as simple to netdeck a top tier aggro deck. An average arena player can autopilot pirate warrior to a 51% winrate, but the average constructed player is likely to draft badly and misplay a bunch of spots he's never seen before.

lol arena main players are generally terrible at constructed, hafu being the exception.

drafting is ****ing easy. you look at tier lists, use hearth arena you have to, and dont draft garbage. it's really not something that most people couldnt pick up in an hour or two of research.

Yeah drafting is easy if you go by tier lists obviously, it's just time consuming. I definitely think the avg arena game requires better situation reading and on the fly decision making though, and it's not close.

The bet constructed players are obviously >>> the best arena players.

Got back to back 11-3 runs :sadpanda: but got to play Thijs on stream at 10-2 which was pretty neat.

Got pasted by Hunter on turn 6 in my final game.

I think a lot of it is the play in arena is typically much worse, people are just pressing buttons for the most part for anything below 8 wins. this was true even before this festival, how it is the last few weeks I feel you can just press buttons to get to 7 wins.

I agree though I've seen some constructed players diving into arena and they make kind of face palmy picks in draft. I've been watching sjow learn arena the last few days and it's kind of funny. I think it's easy to mess up because you value cards much differently in arena vs constructed, but there's still overlap.

example - one of my highest winrate cards by the statistics are the 4 mana 2/6 beast, i think it's called stegodon. This is an awful constructed card and has barely vanilla stats. But, since it's a 4 mana card (the most important turn) and a really good midgame taunt it just pulls games away from opponent's reach a lot of the time and allows you to stabilize if you're behind.

OTOH, tar creeper is one of the best cards in arena and also one of the best constructed cards. so it's hard as a constructed player to differentiate the two, because there are also amazing constructed cards that are trash in arena.


constructed high ranks is a whole different creature. I'm trying to play less arena because I feel like it's making me worse in constructed. I think if someone played ONLY arena for years on end and tried to dive into constructed they'd probably be really bad.

I guess I'm a crappy player in general. Had some solid decks and couldn't get to 5 wins recently.

I guess so. I haven't been playing but the couple of runs I've done I've seen some insanely bad plays and drafts. One guy had prep, counterfeit coin x2 and a bunch of other garbage. This was at 6-0 too.

In spite of this I still can't win. Just lost to 3 steeds in a row. Next game I have a bog creeper and 5/4 on 7 vs empty board and lose to Solia + pyro. Then pyros on the next turn. So fun.

Lose the next game to firefly coin tar creeper into shadow word pain on the 3/5 that can attack when you do with weapon. Curves into Elise and then free from amber and top decks the pack the turn they run out of cards. Every run just goes like this. 3rd time in a row I go 6-0 to 6-3.

Hunter just played freezing trap vs my priest 1/1 plant at 10 wins...

Lost the first game to a Priest who turned things around on me and the fourth game to a mage with pyroblast.

Game ten was against a hunter who on turn five played unleash and could have cleared my board but went face with one dog when the only cards I had were 2 Steads and some high mana cards i couldn't play.

325 gold and a golden Dopplganster.

Wtf do I have to do to get reasonably fair RNG? I just lost to someone who curved firefly into snail into stonehill t4 double 2 drop t5 second stonehill t7 vine cleaver t8 steed t9 dinosize + adapt for windfury missing an obvious lethal and I silence it.... turn 10 another ****ing dinosize.
