woot first one, only loss was to a priest who ran really good, most matchups weren't even close, no secrets and very few spells drafted

Still can't believe how hard that priest destroyed you. Some serious constructed level bs going on there.

Had 12 win runs with Priest (potion of madness GOAT) and Warlock (blastcrystal potion my only 2x after drafting Kazakus early).

That's 4/9 classes I've hit 12 wins with now.

Not sure if this really counts but it my first 12 with rogue.

Not shown Second rate bruiser, Validated Doomsayer, Fight Promoter, Nerubian Prophet, Charged Devilsaur, Primordial Drake and Y'Shaarj.

Only got 245 gold and two cards but one of them was the priest quest.

They really need to give more for 12 win runs. It should feel special like you just beat arena for the most you could have, here's the top prize.

I just got more gold for a 10-3 than I did for my 12-0, in fact I'd say the rewards for the 10-3 were objectively > the rewards for the 12-0. Feelsbadman.

yea i got almost 400 gold in my last 10 win and only 275 in my 12 win the other day. lul

I kind of like the flat rewards because honestly the difference between 10-12 wins is mostly RNG. feels less bad stalling at 10 or 11.

My second 12 win, this time with paladin I wasn't expecting this deck to go so well, especially after losing my first game.

Reward was 340 gold, a gold common and a pack.

Back when the maximum was 8 wins you got more gold on average for 7 wins. I conceded a lot of runs at 7 back then.

Easiest 12 in a while, never got a snap of the deck as I played it out on mobile, it was very good though. 2x steed, consecration, some hand buff stuff and lots of elemental value. Last 4 end bosses were paladins.

I've always wondered why are there so many infinite arena players but watching Thijs misplay almost every single arena game with mage explains a lot.
If Thijs makes a couple mistakes per game how many mistakes will a bad player make?
There have to be a ton of people who finish 0/1-3 every single time.

Arena would be pretty balanced atm if:
Mage-Rogue-Paladin could only face each other.
Hunter-Priest-Warlock could only face each other.
Warrior-Druid-Shaman could only face each other.

I just went 1-3 with my free run. I wholely acknowledge I am trash at arena and never invest in it. Wish I was better.

Thijs is a noob arena player but a great HS player. He's basically played constructed 40-60 hours a week for the past 3 years and probably less than a hundredth of that in Arena. Arena is a much different game where you need to know every possible card that's available when in most cases in constructed the # of possible plays both for you and your opponent are much smaller. I don't think he cares too much about his plays either since he isn't going for the top of the arena ladder.

cool, tirion, ragnaros, 0-3....jesus what a garbage deck.

This is the 2nd time ive gone 0-3 while picking tirion too. it must be like a pity roll or something.

Basically, in arena you need to panic a lot sooner. Make low value plays just to get onto the board. If you miss your 2 drop you're basically dead.

I got a 12 win with pretty garbagey cards yesterday just because it had a nice curve. You try to play a minion every single turn basically. I'd say that's the #1 thing i see bad arena players do, is not fight for the board hard enough

In most cases, you don't wanna coin something out on T1 if you don't have a T2 follow up. That's another really common mistake. Plan your curve around the coin.

I just had a 12-0 run with a paladin deck containing 0 legendaries, 0 Spikeridged Steeds and 0 cards that cost more than 6 mana. A pretty great example of how important a good curve is in arena. Deck:

Amani Beserker was an all-star, and I even managed to pull off the Moat Lurker into Defias Cleaner combo a couple of times.

Reward was 335 gold, 1 pack and a legendary (Hobart)

I usually have issues running a deck like this, one drake and it's gg for me usually.

I was fortunate that I didn't have to play against too many sweepers but I did beat at least one drake and one deathwing. The board control with the deck was so good that most of the time I was able to have complete choice about what trades to make and that allowed me to play around things that might otherwise be devastating.

It also doesn't hurt that Stonehill is completely busted in paladin - I played 2 Tarims, 1 Burnbristle and 1 Tirion during the run.
