next 2 runs are 2-3 druid and 1-3 rogue and i average 6+ with each. Back to the struggle.

It never really stops

Wow, I'm 0-2 in Arena and faced a priest with Emperor, Ysera and Onyxia. Ridiculous.

Finally got a double digit win Warlock run - granted I've only played Warlock a handful of times in Arena since I rate myself as being weak with it so I avoid it normally.

No Dark Bombs, no Hellfire, no Mortal Coils, no Power Overwhelming, no Shadowflame. What I did have was a good curve and a bunch of quality minions like 2x Sludge Belcher, 1 Sunwalker, Stormwind Champion - plus 2 Flame Imps and 1 Worgen Infiltrator, which were by far the MVP's of the run. There was only 1 game where I had to pass on turn 1, every other game I had at least one of these 1 drops in hand on turn 1, one game was Flame Imp coin Worgen - I've been on the receiving end of that enough to know that's a daunting board to overcome after only 1 turn.

Runs I lost: At 5 wins I lost to a Paladin who Mind Control Teched a full health Sludge Belcher (my other minions on board were two 1/1's from a popped spider, and an Amani Berserker at 2/3)

At 6 wins I lost to a Mage that had all the right removal spells.

My 7th win was against a mage who had Wobbling runts on board and played a deathwing while I was at around 20 health, popping his runts, thankfully I had my 1 Siphon Soul in hand for the deathwing, and was able to stabilize with Refreshment Vendor and some other timely topdecks and risky taps, and claw a win while he was pinging me down turn after turn, won when at 3 health, thankfully he never topdecked a spell, just minions that my board could trade well with.

At 10 wins I faced a Rogue - uh oh. I curved great, but he had a cutpurse that, since I had no removal, stuck around from turn 2 until like turn 6, hitting my face every time, while the minions I played were mowed down by his backstab, his dagger + deadly poison, SI 7 Agent, Eviscerate, etc. He drops a Dr. Boom on Turn 7, and then on turn 8 with his board having me one off dying, he BM's by trying to clear my board with his boombots instead of hitting face, and then coins into Kraken for the kill. Bummer, but I was very pleased overall.

Pretty glad with the rewards, 265 gold, a pack and a golden Warbot.

God that sucks. Has there ever been an official "here's how arena opponents are paired up?" explanation from Blizzard? I think it was Krypp that made comments about it being based on just the number of losses, meaning 0-2 could match up with an 11-2 theoretically, or an 11-0 could match up with an 0-0. That would explain some of the matchups I've seen and yours above, but I'm not sure if I believe matching loss counts is the sole factor.

It should be based on wins AND losses with like a +/- factor of 1 either way, so a 0-2 could match up with a 1-1 for instance, or a 8-1 could face someone with 7, 8, or 9 wins and 0, 1, or 2 losses, weighted to look for someone 8-1 unless the wait is too long.

That's not how it works I think. I seem to recall there are 2 pools of players 0-5 wins and 6+ wins. It checks for losses first then for wins. So when you are 4-2 you are more likely to be matched with a 3-2 than a 4-1. But my memory is a bit hazy and I don't know if this came from blizzard or was just speculation. Now thinking about it I think that's how it worked when the max was 8 wins. There has to be a third pool now or at least at some point because I remember waiting quite a while at 11 wins on my first 12 win run.

Back to back runs I get Dr Boom I couldn't believe my luck, but I spluttered out at 2-3 after making a horrible misplay in the last game.

I curved quite poorly in most of the games with not much early game. The clockwork gnomes were surprisingly very strong when I played them. Gorilla bot was probably the stealthy MVP, giving me more late game. The strong paladin cards were also strong, like usual. SOJ/Muster/MK/Truesilver were always good.

@ 10 wins (for my 11th). I faced a legit secret paladin. Lol wtf.

250 gold, gold shrink, 2 packs (tgt, gvg). i had an 11 win paladin this morning where my final boss had 5 keeper of uldamans and tirion, so it felt good to come back this afternoon w/ a 12 win. i posted the 11th win above bc lol some of the decks you face, legit crazzzzzzzzzzzy.



I drafted hungry crab vs weakie epics thinking it would win me a game along the way. it did not. Pit snake sucked - so many mages it just was a bad leper or abusive. Not sure what everyone else's experience with that card has been. Goldshire actually was ok, a useful taunt and combo activator lol.

Horserider, SI7, tomb pillager, and shado pan carried tho.

after some shaky runs of late on a nice heater getting 3 12ers outta my last 6 runs! rouge continues to crush for me. only loss was to a pally who got a bok on raging worgen turn 4

11-0 and then jobbed 3 straight with Druid. Talk about a kick in the balls.

4 innervates and 3 DotC made for some fun things such as this on turn 3.

There is no clear MVP in this run. I just had a lot of solid minions. Water elementals were strong as usual. Ethereal brought me a couple well timed answers. Two blizzards helped me against board spamming decks.

I did that in arena once. Got Challenger with 1st pick, took 4 or 5 secrets.

Who needs football on Sunday anyway?

This rogue only had one weapon buff in the form of an auto barber so I was happy to curve strongly (flattest curve i've ever went 12 with for sure) and even though there was a lack of decent 3 drops I still used that turn to play a 2 or weapon up often. The saps were really strong MVP's in those close games in the middle stages.

LOL I just finished a draft and took 3 Aldor Peacekeepers and 3 Keeper of Uldamans. The rest of my curve caps out at 4 other than a Bomb Lobber and Mukla's Champion at 5, and a Drakanoid Crusher at 6. This looks like a 12 win deck, but I could get wrecked by AOE. Not too worried about Flamestrike, game will be over before that, but like Hellfire could be a problem.

Huzz! Been a while! Took a break from arena while LoE rolled out and was kinda slumping even before that. First 12 with Shaman! Wasn't expecting it from this deck, but really happy to get it done. Just got Hunter left to do but I enjoy playing Hunter arenas a lot more.

Tough to pick MVPs cause literally every card contributed at some point. Won a lot of the early games in the run through value, and the later games through tempo.

Wins 10 and 12, I coined out micro machine against rogues and they didn't have backstab. They hit it with dagger twice, and died fast. Win 11 was a pretty early concession I thought, when tuskarr totemic produced a mana tide totem.

only time i found success with pit snake against ping classes was playing it on awkward turns for them to hero power like turn 3 autobarber + pit snake after a turn 2 dagger or something like that. Either they waste turn 3 pinging the pit snake or you can trade it into their 3 drop or something like that.

My first 12 win Arena with Rogue, 12-2. Final boss left the game after turn 2. Pretty sure I was going to win it anyway since I went second and coined out Defias and had 2 spider tanks and a yeti in hand to play on subsequent turns. Rewards: 405 gold and 2 packs.

I had a draft yesterday where I could've taken 6 Keepers of Uldaman. I stopped at 3 though.

Ok, I'll bite, what did you pass up the last 3 Uldaman's for? Did you have curve issues? I'm assuming it wasn't simply because you already had 3. I'll take all the broken 3 drops I can get in Paladin.

I remember watching Papa Boris videos a while ago where he would be drafting a Mage deck, and he would say things like "A THIRD Fireball? Hmmm, that seems a bit greedy, I'll take the Tauren Warrior instead." That would always drive me CRAZY.

Yea I drafted 4+ fireballs 4 times and all 4 have been ez 12 iirc. At least 3 off the top of my head.

KoU being a common is seriously borked though. Had a pally keeper my boulderfist then clear my obsidian destroyer with equality then keeper my war golem... still won though because WARRIOR OP OP.

So glad Bremen pointed out it was playable because I've gone 7+ with it 4 in a row. Last deck even looked like crap with only one cursed blade and DB with no other removal, charges or burn and I still went 8.

Whats made warrior playable?

I think I only had one 2 drop.
