I'm growing more and more convinced 2 mysterious challengers is excessive.

It's funny...mysterious challenger is going to serve as a reverse chow...want two chows in your deck so your likely to draw it, but hate it late game...you want to put two challengers in your deck so you're likely to draw him to close out your game, but realize they steal value from each other.

I still feel two is right but I'm not convinced:

what would you prefer in it's place? Justicar? Blessings? abusive? second regent maybe...

2 seems very right b/c its the crux of the deck and drawing it is the whole point of the deck

unlike chow, this has no drawback, it's still a 6/6 for 6, even if you get no secrets from the second

Been playing the paladin deck. Mostly crushing, but damn, dragon priest is melting my face.

I'm doing really well vs priest with the low curve token variety. Equality is just a must hold. Misplaying it is such a big deal. Late game they just cannot clear 1/1 tokens to survive.

Justicar is basically game over if they can't pressure lethal within a turn or two.

One big problem I'm having is simply drawing too many secrets. It's happened multiple times where I drop challenger on turn 6 and only get 1 secret because I've drawn both of each of the others.

Add redemption and repentance to your deck

Okay, guys. I spent some time theory-crafting an optimal TGT Midrange Paladin list. I wanted something that was proactive, would be effective in the meta, still countered Grim Patron, and snowballed the matches by having plenty of early game.

Because Murloc Knight seems to be the MVP for paladin of late, I wanted to include him since he generates so much value and develops card advantage when used effectively. However, with him, the four slot becomes incredibly crowded and I don't want to view him as a true four drop, since ideally you want to drop him turn 6. That means cutting piloted shredder is out of the question, since he is the ideal turn four play and replacing him with murloc knight makes your deck's curve feel a bit off.

So what to cut? I decided to cut Truesilvers and replaced them with two coghammers. I also included Captain Greenskin to buff our early game weapons to make up for Truesilvers being lost (as best as possible, since Truesilvers are generally a staple). This change is great against early game aggression and allows us to play two murloc knights while still having weapons to maintain some early board control.

I also love piloted sky golem as it adds another sticky, late-game minion and squeezes more value in a deck that has little, direct card draw outside of Lay on Hands.

Love for you guys to test this out and let me know what you think.

Kreme,

What's your opinion on tuskarr jouster in midrange? Do you view that as more of a control paladin card?

I had assumed that would be a staple in this archetype, but I don't have nearly as much experience with the deck as others here.

I tested some Tuskarr, and I must say, I've been disappointed. I can make a more greedy deck with no chows, add pyromancer, and stick in a Ysera/boom/Rag.. whatever; but that's generally a playstyle I don't really prefer...and this is just so I can get Tuskarr to work more often!

In a midrange build, when the time comes where I need to heal, I want that guaranteed heal to stabilize, and that is generally against an aggro deck where Healbot can deal with the threats they are spitting out. Relying on Tuskar RNG (although more likely favorable against an aggro build) just isn't what I'm looking for to stabilize. That's my opinion on the card.

Kreme, I think the best part of Murloc Knight is the addition to the early game pressure that we've already generated. I don't think we're going to generate the same early game board control with this new deck. MK also synergizes well with our secrets (get down, competitive spirit) is that we're able to protect it and buff what comes out of it. I feel like I would much rather have a sylvanas in out 6-drop slot.

only 3 games tested (rank 2), but 2x quartermaster seems clunky, i think belcher is prob better

Makes sense. And I can see how it doesn't jive with 2x chow and murloc knight in the 6-slot.

Dunno. Double guardians, the 5/5, ysera, drakes. Thats 7. How many more do we need?

Eadric fits like a glove in this deck. Dont need equality.

dragon warrior struggles with 7 dragons. The corruptors and the technicians feel useless

Something like...

Minibots, 2 between pyro/knife/creeper/something else? Maybe faeries actually.
Aldors + techs, musters. Maybe a bgh*
Guardians, consecrates, sabers
Drakes, corruptors, 5/5 rampos.

So we have 4 or 6/6 or 7/~6/6.

Great box curve for pally.

At 7+ eadric, loh, tirion, ysera.

Gives some flex options.

Could fit an owl, 1 equality, and an emp for example.

oh wait, just saw your follow up posts. Yeah makes sense, mine looks similar.

I also opened a golden Eadric, so I want to find a home for him, and dragon pally makes sense.
