at legend today: lots of rogue. some pally.
people not quite legend seemed to be playing last ditch effort decks to get there - mech mage and face hunter.

Playing my midrange pally while working. I am 0-9. Every match is either fatigue mage or mill druid, or freeze mage. WTF.

Four rogues in first ten games today around rank 15ish. Keep your Harrison's ready.

Gonna start my March grind tonight, I'm expecting to see lots of Xixo face hunter wannabe's. Will adjust my mage deck accordingly to what I see.

ranks 15-13: surprising number of the midrange demonlock deck, with mistress of pains and such. i swear almost no one ran this at legend at the end of the month

Nice climb today...got to rank 11 relatively quickly with my Paladin Deck. Double Kezan Mystic in the Meta MVP...Plus I played against a good bit of control warrior...won all 5 matches against warrior and most of my matches against mech mage and hunter.

Double Kezan was exactly what I ran when I went from rank 14 to rank 3 last season...then strayed away from it when I started facing a lot of priests and druid...forgot how much that deck owned.

btw: 9 wins away from my Golden PALLY!!!!

I encountered a ton of kezan mystics.

Were you still playing Face Hunter against it? I'm curious even how good it is against it since usually your dudes don't live for more than a turn or 2 anyway (well at least the decks I play against Face Hunter). Obviously could be clutch occasionally, but it seems way better against Midrange hunter and Mech mage without having ever put it in any of my decks.

I got to Kezan mystic a face hunter earlier today and still lost. So ridiculously OP that build, damn you Xixo!

March 2nd-3rd: I played 72 games, (yes, that's a ton, having said that, more than half of them were with face hunter!) from rank ~14? to 9. Here is what I fought...
-13 mages (most mech mages, some were secret mages)
-12 warlocks (mainly demonlock, 1 or so zoo, 1 handlock)
-9 druids (everyone had combo, did fight a few mech druid, which is more than usual)
-8 paladin, 8 hunter, 7 shaman, 7 rogue
-only 4 warrior and 4 priest

Basically, the 2 most control intensive classes were least played. Encountered a ton of people teched with Kezan Mystic. 39 of my games were face hunter, the rest were basically a random sampling of the other 8 classes.

Finished at rank 9 today. Faced a lot of control today, in particular Warrior. Faced off against GGDomodogan for over 30 minutes...eventually beat him but jeeze I don't know how much I can take epic, long battles when trying to climb.

Only faced one mech mage and one hunter....granted, I played only 10 matches and most of them warrior; so that being said it was an incredibly small sample size.

How many taunts have you seen today? I'm starting to see a lot and I'm considering adding black knight again as a counter.

Black knight is good right now. Have him in my pally deck atm and he has done some great work for me today. faced lots of control and with that came lots of slaughtered sludgies

Substituted sludge belchers for 2x healbots in my druid deck..... Face hunters can't silence heals like they can with belchers. Works wonders.

Also removed Kezan's for 2x chow's. Deals with mirror entity quite well imo.

March 3-4: 63 games from rank 9 to 5. 2/3rds of my games were as Rogue. I faced:
-12 mages (19%)
-10 druids (16%)
-9 hunters, 9 rogues (14% each)
-7 warlocks, 6 warriors, 5 shamans, 3 paladins, 2 priest

Should note I went 2-2 vs Warrior today as rogue, including a sweet game where I played a dude who switched from rogue to warrior to hard counter me, and yet I beat him anyway (turn 2 8/8 edwin is the trick to beating warriors as a rogue, pass it along)

I think Rogue is really strong right now. They enjoy a matchup advantage vs the top 3 current most played classes. Warrior is still an awful matchup, but just not that common.

Edit: Paladin seems decent too, as I like their matchup vs Mage and Druid, however they def are disadvantaged vs Hunters and Rogues. I played a few games as Paladin and they went well.

Edit #2: Just realized I included casual games, rather than filtering for just ranked. 57 were ranked, 6 casual. Shouldnt impact the meta breakdown too much so not going to bother to fix it.

hmmm makes sense, and if it's working for you, I'm sure there is something to it...especially since your deck has other ways to taunt up if need be; the ability to heal on top of that makes sense in the aggro matchups.

Yeah that's my thinking exactly. In my experience vs. face hunter they have the silence by turn 5, thus negating my taunt. However, a healbot for 8 heal keeps me in the game. Good in this meta imo.

Another side benefit of 2x healbot is that it's good vs. mirror because it easily gets you out of combo range when a druid chooses to go face because they're sitting on those two cards.

Edit: One last thought about healbot. It also allows me to more confidently go for 2 cards when I have lore knowing I have 16 heal in my deck.

Rogue makes me sick to my stomach as a primary Pally player. I tend to just go YoLo in those matchups, hoping they have no answers...as I'm heavily unfavored in that matchup.

Every other matchup doesn't really bother me at this point. I feel like I'm favored, even so slightly, against every other matchup.

I am a little worried, as Trump has been playing Rogue of late; might make the Meta especially frustrating if I decide to play Pally...may have to switch it up.

Congrats on getting to 5 so soon. Thats my goal today...hopefully RNG plus good play will be on my side

Haven't seen too many rogues in the these past few days, maybe they already zoomed past me at rank 10-8?

I don't think we will ever see that many rogues except maybe at top tiers just cause it is one of the trickier decks to play well. Why play it when you can just play face hunter or whatever else. I've lost so many games this season from tilt/playing too fast/lack of concentration.

no Rogues (which is great given i played paladin ) and Shamen

been facing a surprisingly high amount of shamans starting from rank 5 on EU. guess they're trying to farm the warrior players who in return try to feed off rogue/face hunter

Can you guys do me a solid and start playing Warrior ASAP? Rogue's are unbeattable even with 2x healbot's and I'm sick of them. Thanks in advance.
