Yeah volcanic drake won't be played in constructed. I mean we already have that stupid Lost Tallstrider vanilla 5/4 for 4 mana that is never played. This is bad for the same reasons.

Volcanic drake will have synergy with many decks though, like with muster for battle or some rando aggros.

But at 4hp it wont ever be insane.

ALso we should keep in mind that there will be very few dragon cards overall, and these all have dragon affixed therefore cant be unbelievably godly by themselves. But odds are you WILL have to use some of these to construct "dragon" decks, especially those that you need to hold dragons. The 6/6/6+bonus seems like it might become a staple in dragon decks.

If any dragon decks are viable... of course.

The 6/6 --> 9/9 dragon seems like it was created because the developers wanted to come up with new "do we have lethal" puzzles.

It's also a dragon, which imo there will be some new dragon meta/synergy that happens.

Plus like almost always its a 4 mana 6/4 at worst at best its a free 6/4.

I guess something like 4.5.

Thing is, it's not really a good value unless it's 3 mana. The extra 1 attack at 4 mana compared to a lost tallstrider does nothing really. I guess it kills druid of the claws.

Zoolock tends to use a lot of little dudes to tear down a big dude. For instance, you might use 3 tokens with various attack buffs to clear a sludge and cause five "deaths". In that circumstance, this would be a one-mana 6/4.

was doing some thinking about rend blackhand. i dont think he's THAT bad - holding a dragon seems to be a condition easy to hit, and destroying a legendary is a pretty big swing. if he was 4/8 instead he'd be awesome, i think.

Will they save the best for last? The cards seem good but not as good as Naxx. I'm sure you can make a decent dragon deck and it seems like warrior and zoo got some boosts too, but right now nothing really screams out "I gotta have that card!"

My prediction is that the meta will go back towards control, and skilled players will do even better than before compared to those of lesser skill. It seems like cards like hungry dragon and volcanic drake need to be played properly to get maximum value. Maybe instead of power creep we will get "Skill creep?"

I hope there saving the best for last. So far this set doesnt seem anywhere near as good as what naxx brought. Nax had Belcher,Loatheb, Kel Thuzad, undertaker, haunted creeper, and egg with some good class cards.

I see some decent looking cards but not to many that look that strong. Maybe when I see them in play it will be diff. I'm for sure expecting at least one OP legendary.
