Yeah, looks pretty meta shifting.

The respawn one could be really goat in warrior build.

Drop one, whirlwind effect you now have two, a second and you now have four. Trade them against lower damage mechs or beasts and it's getting out of hand quickly.

Or too costly to be effective for its purpose.

Warsong commander + inner rage or task master tho. New otk build with death's bite.

so far, yes.

7 mana for an 8 (bgh range) / 4 (frostbolt range), that requires you to have a dragon in hand (so far only good dragon is azure drake / alexstraza), and how many legendaries are you going to kill that you could have killed with other cards anyways?

I'd bet there will be at least four dragons (two of most will be runnable) in this adventure release.

Probably a few cheap ones too.

Fwiw it might not get a lot of use and be niche. Or maybe it will be a big part of a new deck entirely. Maybe it's just awesome and ppl won't realise until they run it.

30 card expansion.... I think we're only seeing the beginning of the dragon reveal. I'm already thinking on how to defeat all of these Kibler dragon decks.

31 card expansion, my bad. I'm really really excited about this expansion FYI! This will shake things up to be sure, but imo we haven't even settled on the meta from GVG, not even close. A few weeks ago mech mage was all the rage, now it's practically gone. We dismissed Warlock as bad, and now it's back with demonlock. Oil rogue is the hot deck right now but in a few weeks that could change.

Before GVG things were stale, the meta needed a good kick in the arse, but Blackrock Mountain is just going to make things even more crazy and chaotic (which means it's going to be really fun!)

Who's going to pre-order? It's a no brainer purchase for me.

cant use gold for preorder so no point

I already have 800 gold saved up, but I'll pre-order. I spent like $350 on GVG, and I'd prefer to not do that the next time a new GVG like release is out later this year.

anywhere to see all 31 cards, or did they just show off a few?

The DI skulker seems like an anti-aggro rogue card that could be used in a control rogue deck, but:
1. A 4/3 body for 5 mana is terrible
2. A lot of the aggro decks use charge/earlier costed minions, so you cant really wait on a big aoe wipe
3. Did I mention it was 5 mana?

Scarlet Purifier is basically the same thing for 1 fewer mana and it is played never.

Grim Patron looks like an interesting new card, and I like the mechanic. But once again, 5 drops are at a premium, and since it requires some synergy, a 3/3 just wont cut it.

Blackwing Technician obviously looks strong. With more dragons in the expansion a 3/5 seems reasonable on 3 mana, which is obv the GOAT stats for that mana cost. 3 drops are also less competitive than the 2 or 4 slot, so my hunch is this card will see play in a new type of dragon deck. (A 3 mana 3/5 is great anti-aggro if your deck is very late game centered)

Hungry Dragon seems insane. It's a dragon, for one, which could matter. But also the average 1-drop is what... a 2/1? Most 1 drops are utter garbage. That means this guy is a 4/5, which is very good stats for 4 drops, has minor synergy coming up, and a bit of RNG which could be fun.

Rend Blackhand seems like he will see absolutely no play, and that's because 8 attack when you're a slow card is pretty meh, and 4 health on that much mana means its not going to happen. If he was just big game hunter - destroy a legendary - without the dragon requirement, maybe he'd see play. But with needing a dragon? I don't know.

I could be wrong about Rend. If a Dragon deck is possible, it could make it so the need for hard removal is lowered a bit.

The dragons in the game though:
-Faerie Dragon. Really good arena card, and although rarely played in constructed, the decks its played in are aggro, since the 3/2 untargetable body is obv early aggression
-Azure Drake. One of the best cards in the game. I assume all dragon decks will run 2, and it'll prob cover the card draw.
-All the legendaries. Even with more synergy, seems tough to put Malygos in a non-OTK deck, or Onyxia in a deck at all, etc.

Twilight Drake would probably be good in a Dragon deck, since it would probably be slow and accumulate quite a few cards.

I think you're right about the 5 drop, the competition is too insane for that slot. So far out of the cards shown the 4 and 3 drop are the most compelling. there's lots of room in the 1-4 drop range for new cards.

I was thinking of a dragonlock deck... Could use the twlights, faeries, azures, hungrys, technician. And instead of the usual giants, you get to play the dragons! Rag, Ysera, Onyxia, prob not Nozdormu, Malygos, or Deathwang tho

Rend Blackhand is just the Hemet Nesingwary of the set, I suppose.

I was thinking more about the Technician. A 3 mana 3/5 is sick, because:
-The most common 4 drop is shredder (4/3), and this directly counters that
-There are ~enough dragons in the typical midrange deck (if you add in 2 or so) that the effect is likely to proc enough (basically, 2 azures for sure, maybe 2 hungrys and an alexstrazza or SOMETHING)

I don't think we will see that many more dragon synergy cards. I remember Brode responding to a question once saying that thematically it doesn't make sense, cause dragons in wow are solitary or w/e, and they wouldn't be doing the mech thing with dragons.

What do you think about gold vs. cash? I'm a FTP player, but the fact that you can save $$ if you pay with cash makes me want to pay cash and just save up gold for arenas.
