Do Korean chicks prefer HS? I thought they liked Starcraft.

I can't stop thinking about the game at work. I don't know why I didn't start earlier.

So just so I understand, you can't use gold now to access Naxx or BM, correct? Has to be done via real money?

So gold is really only useful for joining arena and buying packs? As a newbie should I be spending it on packs so I can acquire cards to disenchant and get dust for crafting? Or is my gold these days best spent on arena?

Can use gold to buy the wings. It's just 700 gold per wing.
So you would need 7k gold for both complete expansions if that were your intent.

The expansions are the most cost effective thing to acquire via using real $. The most cost effective thing to spend gold on is arena, assuming you can average 4 wins, or want to get good enough to do so via practicing.

This just in: cards matter. A lot. Hehe. I am 5 levels higher than yesterday simply from getting (and completing) the Naxx expansion. And I haven't played a ton more games. That alone has to be worth damn near 8-10 levels. DEFINITELY get that before Black Rock. I did the opposite.

Vix, are you just playing ranked or arena? Are you crafting or disenchanting at all, or buying packs? Or just building decks now with basic and Naxx?

All of the above

Just finished my best arena run today with 5 wins (mage), and created a hunter for tomorrow. I've started tracking my stats now too.

I bought the second wing of Naxx and I'm having a hell of a time trying to beat Heigan. I looked up a deck which gave me a basic Paladin deck but it seems like he has an answer for everything and I can never get any momentum. I don't have any super cards to help me out.

I used this deck, took me a few goes but not that long.

Thank you for this! Beat him on the first try. I then looked up a deck for Loatheb and beat him after about 5 tries. Loatheb was fun. And I finished the next two class challenges. It's nice when they give you an already constructed deck because all you have to do is keep playing knowing you'll win eventually.

I've just been grinding daily quests and some simple ranked game with basic decks to earn gold. I've got enough for the first wing of Naxx. I'm guessing I should probably just go ahead and unlock it, and then go from there. All classes level >10. At this point should I just pick a class and play only that one going forward for the time being? If so, suggestions on a class? I really don't have any preference but also don't care if it's not the OP meta class currently.

don't choose one until you do have a preference imo

There isn't really one specific OP class right now, either

Hey all started playing Hearthstone this week after all the chatter from poker players on twitter and instantly hooked.

Started off by completing all the AI training vs normal & expert, playing casual matches and ranking my mage up to lvl23 so far, I've watched some of Trump's videos and I'm currently using his control mage deck that he uses in part 1.

So far playing ranked matches I've won 6 straight, using basic control techniques, is this short term variance or expected?

At what level will i start to struggle using this fairly basic deck & strategy?

My aim is basically to get as far as I can without spending any $$$, so at the moment that rules out naxx & BRM, although im at 480 coins so i'll keep doing daily quests and winning ranked & casual matches until I can play the first naxx.

Also i've only played with my mage so far should I look into using the others to learn there strengths & weaknesses? or just focus on my mage as I don't plan to play arena in the short term!

You can probably make it to rank 17 or so with a basic deck. Get all of Naxx asap, forget about BRM until you complete Naxx. I made a mistake doing it the other way. Good luck not spending money, lol.

25 to 20 you do not lose stars. This far in to the month you should pretty much only face other new players at these ranks. The ranks are reset every month but you start with 1 star for each rank you got last month.

Thanks both for the advise probably aiming to play as much as possible this month on ranked until I start to struggle so I have a platform to build on next month, then just blitz the quests & 3 win bonus on casual to unlock naxx asap as you say.

I'm hoping not to spend any money early on but if I am enjoying the game I will more than happily spend a little

Only been playing for a few days and just purchased naxx with cash. Should basic decks be able to get through normal mode or do I need to do some playing to get better cards?
