Eh? He has been the best player in recent history. And the mirror match was more about draws than skill.

Thijs has been absolutely crushing it lately and it isn't close. I know purple won the regional but thijs did too and the very tough team league.

Yeah, maybe.

http://www.gosugamers.net/hearthstone/rankings

They both have the same record. Thijs' competition looks stiffer on that site. Xixo actually has a better record than both of them as far as recent matches are concerned.

I wonder who has the most success in Hearthstone tournaments historically.

No idea. Thought that match wasnt well played. Neira has a reputation as being a strong player but i dunno...

Either Purple dumps a ton of resources into clearing Neirea's board, or Purple has exactly Backstab, 2nd Oil, Flurry and Eviscerate after seeing like 14 cards, or Neiria wins on the spot next turn.

Im assuming he meant the turn before lethal where neira couldve cleared one and bok the big guy and still had lethal flr next turn

It wouldve been situationally waaaay better half hedge

Results oriented but likely the better play anyway

That play gives Neirea really low equity against the second Sap. I don't think he had any reason to think Purple couldn't have the second Sap in hand already, but I might be wrong.

by leaving two things up he made his get down worthless. was so far ahead if he kept clearing and noble sac would have prevented real damage

I think Purple even had some of those pieces in his hand for more than one turn which should've told Neirea that Purple was up to the rogue life.

The turn in question:

Hidden board state: Neirea's secret is Noble Sacrifice. Purple's weapon is at 4/2 because of a previous oil.

That does seem like an odd mistake. I see that mistake (leaving a minion up against oil rogue) at level 15, but you'd think that a pro wouldn't do that. BoK on the 5/5, clear a 3/3, then face with the 10/9 leaves Neirea with a 10/9 and a 9/6 while Purple would be at 20 health, one 3/3 and a 4/2 weapon.

BoK on the MC gives a 14/13 and a 5/2 for Neirea with Purple at 16 health, one 3/3, and a 4/2 weapon. Weaker to sap, this way.

Dang. I watched that and thougt Purple actually had less cards when DKGO said something about it. That really is a big error on Neirea knowing Purple had that many cards.
