Poker chip set with 25 cent denom's Poker chip set with 25 cent denom's

So I've spent the last two hours or so on Google trying to find a poker chip set that supports uNL live games, and the only one I could find were the Black Diamond series. The problem is, I know someone who has those and I don't want to copy their set, especially if they want to come to my game.

I tried searching the forum & the internet in general, but to no avail. So, instead of being even more of a degen (and checking out chip sites instead of doing homework), I turn to my 2p2 brothers. Have any of you guys come across a DECENT set of poker chips with 25 cent denominations? Looking to spend <20c per chip

NextGen Pro Classics are sub $0.20 (before shipping), and lack a $0.25 denomination, but they do have blue chips with just a symbol on them, as well as being available unlabeled.

You could easily order $1's and $5's in labeled chips, and order quarters in unlabeled or with the NPC "PC" symbol on them.

If you can do without a label, your price range also affords you NexGen Lucky Bee (8200/8300) chips.

That's the bottom end of "nice" chips, frankly.

I was looking at them; they seem kinda neat & durable. I wish they had 25 cent denominations (and I feel like I saw a white NexGen 25c once before.. hmm)

My main reason for not wanting them was because I wanted to have a set with a 25c & 50c denomination (for if the crowd would rather play 25/50 or 50/1) but I had just realized I could just switch it up and have the blue equal the small blind..

Lol your post provoked me to solve my own problem! Haha.

Any others?

Also, it seems like I'll have to ship out a hundo for a five hundred piece NexGen set, & they're only 9g chips, which is rather light. Think it's better just to get the Black Diamond ones & suck it up? About half as expensive, has the denom's I want and also weighs more.

Heavier chips are sexy imo

Check out the "Poker Chip Primer" section of the FAQ sticky at the top of Home Poker. After reading through all the info. there I decided on the "Pharaoh's Club" chip set. IMO they are a great set for the price (but, a little more expensive than you're looking for) and have a $0.25 chip available.

There is no need for a $0.50 chip, just use two $0.25s.

May I humbly suggest for the FAQ:

Chip Weight

Casino chips for decades have been roughly 9-11g. Paulson, BCC, and ASM all manufacture compression molded chips of approximately that weight.

Injection-molded chips would be much lighter and feel "cheap" by comparison, so manufacturers include a metal slug to bring the weight up. Slugged chips are often marketed as "casino weight", which is simply marketing bafflegab.

Slugged chips generally weigh 13g or more, and have a characteristic sound when handled. Needless to say, poker chip aficionados do not covet this sound. You don't need your chips to weigh 13g+, and the best chips weigh less than that.

Older Paulson chips used small amounts of lead to add heft, and might not be particularly safe to handle regularly. All modern clay chips are lead-free. Most ASM chips contain brass flakes, which are easily visible in the edges of the chips.

I like it, and the use of the word "bafflegab" is icing on the cake.

One minor suggestion:

pulling out my "no, it's not for that" scale:

ASM's are generally 8-9g. Paulson and BCC as much as 10g.

Sluggos in my collection range from the mid-11s up to 14.

so, amend to

also, delete the redundant "marketing" right before "baffelgab", because it's redundant.

Does "bafflegab" mean "sexiness?"

It's also repetitive and says the same thing twice.

Chipco casino's, classics, crystal oysters, vineyards.

did you try sidepot, epokerdeals or brpropoker

Edit. nevermind....these are all probably out of your price range

Yeah, I like my Chipco's, but I want to get Paulsons one day.

I added that blurb to the FAQ, but left in marketing bafflegab. All marketing may be bafflegab, but not all bafflegab is marketing. It can be politics, for instance. Or it can be a typical post on 2+2.

I'm probably the only guy on the planet bugged by this, but that sounds repetitive to me. It's really fine.

Also, it's not "try and do this," it's "try to do this". I'm dying to tell my client at work this, but of course can't, so I'm saying it here.We grammar nits have it tougher than you might think.

I see. I thought you meant it was an oxymoron. Now that you've pointed this out, it was starting to bug me.
