I'll third schmendie's motion. Once I received a deck with misprinted cards and caragails sent replacements immediately. I think the world of them.

But I am interested in hearing about your experience.

I will add an international "thumbs up" for Cara-Gails. Other than my local B&M supplier, I use them exclusively for my addiction. NEVER had a problem that was not quickly resolved to my satisfaction. Sorry that your experience was not similar, but it is unfair to label a vendor based on one purchase, GOOD or BAD.

Cara Gails has always been awesome for me. Good prices and fast shipping has been the norm for me. Sorry you had a bad experience xTHUNDERSTICKx.

Meh, $18 isn't too bad for a setup of Copags. If you have Amazon Prime, you may have even saved money by skipping out on the shipping costs.

Do all Copags come with cut cards now? I've bought a whole bunch of them and never gotten one.

Friend of mine GAVE me a set-up of these . . . apparently his group did not care for them. Mine were indifferent, so they will make occasional appearances just for the WTF factor . . .

I won't use 4 color decks (except online). I get to stack off a couple of times per year with somebody who thought they had a flush, why would I want to prevent them from giving me free moneyz?

One of our hosts bought a setup of DaVinci cards, the ones with the three bicycle wheels on the back. Pretty decent cards, we all liked them. If anything, they were a little slippery, with cards sliding off the top of the deck at times. Other than that, pretty solid.

That's on one side of the page, the other say's they will chase more flushes. That is what goes into my decision making anyway.

Picked up 4 decks of Dal Negro Freedom X for $6.95/deck on Amazon. Most of my experience in the past has been with Kem and Copag, but very interested to try these and if they are comparable to other high end decks the price is a great value.

Let us know what you think. That is a good price.

Decks were delivered yesterday. Initial impression is very good. Sharp printing, shuffles well, good snap. The real test of course will be how they hold up over time, but the first impression is good.

Dal Negro is a quality product. these are the ones with the Statue of Liberty on the backs, right? If so, I have seen reviews elsewhere that were very positive. Do not own any myself.

I notice that is $7 per deck. Not a bad price, but nothing really special.

Joined this forum just to post here... But truth be told, I'm overdue to join. I'm a card, chip, and table fan. Been on CT for a while, and was recently looking for advice on some variety in my card lineup... Currently mainly copags.

On some of the advice here, and elsewhere, I pulled the trigger on the modiano PA and a setup of gemaco seperflex's. Both in poker size with jumbo index. They haven't arrived yet.

Great forum, can't wait to start reading all the great material contained within!

Welcome, Trihonda. We'd be interested in your review of the cards you bought.

That includes shipping with a prime membership. I have these in bridge size and regular index. Agreed, nothing special, but no problems.

I ordered a couple more decks with the dual index. Folks we complaining that they couldn't see the cards. It seems that the PVC cards produce more of a glare than the acetate cards. These are poker size, but size shouldn't be a problem with the smaller index to to look at.

I thought it would be nice to put something back into the game, especially since it was pointed out that I cash just about every week! This is a $20 buy-in NLHE donk-ament.

Received the gemaco cards today, much faster than anticipated. Good, cuz I have a game of decerning players tomorrow night (one was last year's ME chip leader for two days). I'm going to play the gemacos, see what ppl think.

My first impression, being used to Copags, is they are much stiffer. This makes it a tad harder to shuffle (until I get used to it). However, they deal better, and I love the design and look of the cards. I will reserve final judgement after my session tomorrow. I'll see what my guests think as well.

Most cards are stiffer than Copags, so that sounds about right. Based on what I own or have used in a game, my impressions are

(stiff) Modiano -> Fournier / Gemaco / Ovalyon / Marion -> Bicycle Prestige / Four52 -> Desjgn Classic Vics -> Cartamundi ACE / Copag / USPC KEM (flexible)

My preferences tend toward the cards being less flexible, so the Modiano / Fournier / Prestige cards normally get the call, although I've used the Desjgns in the past few games.

Definitely want to know how the Gemacos compare to the Modianos, and what your players think of them. This is definitely a slippery slope...expect to amass a small (?) collection of setups to determine what you like.

Have a full table for tomorrow nights game... Including one of my local poker idols. I've played him before (and done well), but it's still a bit intimidating to see him as the multiple-day chip leader at the wsop ME, then imagine him at my table looking at me like a piece of juicy tuna.

Anyway, here are tomorrow night's starting stacks, along with the gemaco's. They feel nice, and the more I handle them, the more me likey! I can't wait to get the modiano's and try out the acetate for comparison.

Thought i would add some cards from my home game:

front row - da vinci, bicycle prestige, cartamundi, dal negro and gemaco.. all bridge size/jumbo index.

middle row - card club (bridge/reg index), modiano, angel, bike trophy, and modiano again..

back row are my unopened spares.. i like the cartamundis!!
The hardest to find are Angel, but once you get a set, they are great.

all presented on my custom poker tale featuring my beloved Essendon Bombers AFL team!

and another table built by me..just for show!

Tried the last night and really liked the dual index. The blind guys could see and the smaller index allowed only me to see my cards. I'm getting another set up for me.

The Gemaco's were a hit. There were two people that indicated they preferred the Copags, but most liked the Superflex's better. I'm also in that camp.

We even decided after about 4 hours, to switch back to the Copags for comparison. No complaints about the Copags, but the switch back did nothing to improve the coolers I was being dealt...

On a side note, we switched back to the Gemaco's late in the session (when we were 5 handed (and only using a single deck). The group confirmed the preference for the Gemaco's.

For the last two hours of the session, I was heads up against a person who was one of the folks who preferred the Copags, and being heads up, I agreed to go back to the Copags due to the amount of dealing involved... In retrospect, it seems like we switched cards a lot, but it didn't really seem excessive, spread out over 9 hours.

Also, we had a freakish power outage in my neighborhood, so the Gemaco's saw some Glow Poker time. Our game hardly skipped a beat. I jumped up, snagged a bunch of LED lights, headlamps, and chem glow sticks, GAME ON!

Here's a pic one player snapped:

Just received the Modiano's in the mail... First impression (out the box) is these are my new favorite cards! Wow, fantastic feel. And the colors and design really speak to me.
