What I think you're saying is a game is called, and played until the button goes around.

What we used to do is have the button call a genre. Say, 'Omaha games', or whatever. Then. each dealer could pick O/8, lowmaha, tic-tac-toe-maha, or whatever. Seems like it made the game go a little faster, rather than each dealer figuring out what they wanted to play.

Just attempted self-deprecation.

I was chatting with a buddy about the games we played this past week.
I commented that I thought we played less "poker" that usual.
Then I mentally had to break down the games into "Poker", "Close to Poker", and "Cards" categories.

I have thought that we should do full round of whatever dealers choice game is called, but nobody is really that interested in balancing things, and only a couple players routinely play games that have larger dealer edges.

Our dealer's choice game has gone to only running the first Monday of every month and it seems to be surviving. Having our February Game tonight.

Last month I was getting crushed until the last hand of the night and ended up making all my money back in one hand. Ended up scooping a slip and slide game.

Our host tried to get it setup for a couple of times a month but, couldn't get enough players. For me I think once a month is the best option.

I deal in a bar-poker league. These are games we run when we have additional game(s) after the normal night. Craziness ensues.

I keep a couple dice in the well to make sure I'm correctly tracking the blinds (i.e., 100/200, 2/4, 3/6 etc). One thing we've discussed but haven't tried out is to have the button roll the dice before each hand. What comes up defines the blinds. Could be 100/100, could be 600/600.

Games I don't think I've mentioned. Really, three variants of the same game.

No river hold 'em. Each player gets three cards. Bet, flop, bet, turn, bet, done. Just what it sounds like.

No river hold 'em, personal after the turn betting, each player exposes one card (their personal river). After a little bit of time to let each player try to figure out what the others are doing, last round of betting. Important for each player to keep their river exposed close to them so it doesn't get mucked or mixed in. Your exposed river does not have to play, however; maybe you're representing a straight with some two pair or set for real.

No river hold 'em, river Styx Dealer puts out a river. However, it's not part of the board; any hand with one of the same rank is dead. Another round of betting compared to the first example.

Need better names for sure.
