I am rail-birding some semi private game in my card room,
The game go like this:
2200$ buy in for 20k in chip,
play for 4 hour (cannot leave as you wish), and you cash out after the game time is over.
when cash out, 20k chip worth $2000
there is no time rake or pot rake, just one time buy-in rake

I do not think this rank is beatable, on the other hand, the game is very good.
ppl play too many hands, and play post flop with mostly sub premium hand.

When you rebuy or add-on chips. it is still 2200$ for 20k in chip (no discount)

blinds are 400/800 in chip, people often sit with 50k-300k ish in chips
it is a 9 handed smoking table, 20ish hand an hour

basically you play 80 hands for a 10% buyin rake.

Let's clear up the game description. You pay $200 in fees to buy $2,000 in chips. The blinds are $40/$80, so it is a 25bb game. The whole game is played preflop and on the flop by the better players.

As with every question like this, the answer depends on how weak the field plays and how well Hero plays. I think a patient Hero could do well vs bad players in this structure with relatively limited variance.

This fee structure sounds like an "old school" form of rake - just take 10% off the top at the cage. It certainly isn't the highest rake we have heard of here - some places have 10% uncapped rakes and lots more cap at $10+ per hand. We also see posts talking about over raking in unregulated games.

Yes the fees are high. Yes the stakes are high and the structure limits post flop skill edges. I'd avoid this game unless the player pool is bad.

You're paying $800 to buy 100BB. There has to be something you're missing, or else the local loony bin is missing about 8-10 of their residents. GL
