Brand new here and wondering if there are country/city specific threads for finding home games at all? I'm located in Adelaide, Australia and it is a bit dead here as far as I can tell sadly.

I have a casino near enough to me but don't have the bankroll yet to be able to make that a consistent game without playing with scared money.

At the moment I do have a weekly Friday game that I play for micro stakes (10c-20c NLHE) with a $20 that I win consistently cashing out for $50+ profit (last cash was $92 profit) but I'm hoping to find a 50c-$1 or 1-1/1-2 so I can build that bankroll to comfortably play in the casino and be profitable.

Cheers.

There are . You just need to check the sub-forum for local games.

Haven't posted here in forever as I don't host anymore as I've moved and don't have any players. I did however manage to host a PCF meetup and Schmendr1ck and Breich were in attendance. 3 full days of poker with a trip to Tunica thrown in as well. I ended up playing a little over 40 some hours of poker which is probably 10 less then Schmendr1ck since he stayed up all night at the casino. First time hosting in over 8 months and it was the first time I'd seen either in a long time. Took us back to the HPI days of 2012,2013 and 2014. Unfortunately that home poker tradition ended, but might be worth starting up again in the future.

Here are a few of the pictures I took.

I'd love to see it start up again. I don't get to play much anymore, but I'd make the time for that.

New Sheriff in town.

So this forum has been pretty quiet lately, and the mods gradually wandered away. I've volunteered to help Mat out. If there is anything y'all would like to see, please let me know. My main goal is to keep the spam, including barking for underground raked games, out.

I haven't seen any posting ITF that really concerns me other than that. I'd love to see more activity ITF. Thoughts?

Home game listings actually in the home game listing sub-forum. (i.e., not in main forum as quite a few are now)

Yeah, I can see that, though most of those are "looking for a game" posts, which aren't the same as "home game listings" which are supposed to only be listed by the host.

What do people think of the idea of doing it more like venues and communities in C&CP and having a thread for each area which can be listings, seeking a game, discussion, etc? It seems to me there are a couple of threads like that already (like the D.C. thread) and they seem to run fine.

I think doing it like venues & communities might be good, but I'm not sure there's much to be done about the low activity here. I think other than encouraging people to consistently post about experiences in games they play in (and continue to have one thread to a home game), there's not a lot to say on an ongoing basis here.

TBH it's been somewhat unfortunate, I've been looking for a game near me for about six months and in the past I feel like this forum would've helped me with that, but I've gotten better leads from PCF/meetup so far in this search.

TLDR: Reg invites a guest who gets drunk and booted from the game, then wrecks into my car, and asks to bring someone to the next game.

Didn't think it was thread worthy, but I have a story from one of my recent monthly games.

Backstory: This is our 6th 'season' of tournament league play. We've had the same core group of 9-10 guys for most of the time, with a few other regs over the years.
We get guests almost monthly. This is usually pretty standard and we have the type of crew where it's never even a doubt that the guest will be an alright dude.

Well there is one of the regulars who some people don't necessarily care for..My wife can't stand him..he just irks guys sometimes..He's only been coming for 2 seasons. We'll call him Chris

Last month he asks if he can bring a buddy, which he's done before.
I usually host but my cousin happens to be hosting cause i can't play this month.
I say sure, why not.(shoulda asked my cousin, since it was his house, but he would have said yes anyway)..
I text my cousin to see how the game is going, and he says, "pretty wild night, had to throw a guy out!"

Evidently, Chris and his guest show up kinda drunk. The guest doesn't know the game all that well, folding out of turn, folding when it's his option, not understanding the blinds, pretty much a circus even if he wasn't drunk.

So he continues drinking, and gets hammered. And then SPITS on the floor!. Like turns his head, hocks up a loogie and lets fly on the nice hardwood.
Two guys see it and immediately jump up.
Chris had busted already. "Hey man, get your boy outta here, he's gone"
Dude stands up and says he didn't so ****, and for a second they said it looked like he was gonna flip the table or something, then he just turned and sulked toward the door, apologizes and they leave without further incident. Chips removed from play, game carries on.

Chris takes his buddy home, and by this time I'm on my way just to play a little cash game on the side...and they tell me Chris is coming back to play some cash games...I though this was rather ballsy since your invitee just disrespected another man's house.

So as the tournament is over, guys are jockeying cars around to get out of the driveway, while some still play cash.
I'm parked across the street, out of the way from everyone else..and Chris comes back in the house, "Hey, who has the black truck?" I say , I do. "Well I might have dinged it when parking. Ah ****, no worries...
Two minutes later another guy says, "Hey man, you better check your ride, I'm pretty he sure he did more than just ding it."
We finish playing, I go outside and see a pretty significant dent/bulge in the wheel well and scratches all over the bumper. And Chris is gone by this time.
I text in the morning and tell hime we've got some body work that needs done and he eventually turns it into his insurance because I guess his car was banged up too.
Glad I didn't have to deal with that whole thing of "let's keep insurance out of this."

Forward to this month's game..Chris texts and asks if he can bring a guy!
I couldn't believe it. The balls on this guy. "Sorry dude, your invite privileges have been revoked for a while."
He says, "well it's not the same guy." Oh really, No sh**?

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to hear of other times any of you had to boot a player, or how you handled it/ would have handled it.

Cheers

That's probably true. If you still don't have PM access by Monday, post ITT and I'll ask the powers that be to turn it on manually.

This forum is waaaaay quieter than I remember, kinda like my home game. Is the lack of internet poker the driving force behind the drop in home games? And whatever happened to Eneely and Schmendrick? Not around anymore?

I haven't played much since Black Friday. I kinda miss it. If we get reputable internet poker again, I'm not sure I'll get back into it.

Poker craze has died down, and casino access to poker has spread for those wanting to play. Between the two, it makes it tough on home games.
