Anyone else watching the WSOP live stream and notice they swapped from Bicycle to Modiano cards this year?

It's been a while since we posted here (probably because I haven't hosted in forever), but Wesrwood just took 3rd/4th in Event #10 (heads up tourney).

Wow! Now that's some money. $10K buy-in, too. Too rich for my blood, or did he win his entry?

Was that $111,525 for a 10k entry?? Nice return. Congrads.

And the final match went *quick*. I was watching it before I went to get my kids and they were about even. I get home from getting them and the grocery store expecting to watch it some more, and it's over.

Indeed they did. I don't mind the cards for a home game, but they were dimpling like crazy... and some of the shuffle machines were chewing them up with ease.

BF and I just moved down closer to Austin, and I'll be hosting a $4/$8 HOE game this Saturday, with 2-7 TD in there more than likely as well. Avaholic and some of his Austin group will likely be playing as well. Three of my players from Fort Hood are making the 45 minute drive to come play, which is awesome.

There's also talk of a mixed limit tournament league--which would be beyond awesome. Any thoughts on what games should be in the league? Maybe a HOTE tournament, or HOTER, or ROSE, or HOE.

That is great. 45 minutes is about as far as I drive to play poker, and you've got to really like the game to do it.

What are these acronyms, aside from HOE?

Holdem
Omaha 8
Razz
Stud 8
2-7 Triple Draw

Just variations.

Hosted two games this weekend. Saturday was $4/$8 HOE with two holdem orbits and one of each of the other games. Our biggest pot of the night was a 65BB/$520ish monster. The flop got capped five ways when my A2 draw got counterfeit on the turn. Nobody even showed up with a decent low on the river, and this would happen two more times to me that night, ending down $140. We had about $3100 total on the table, amounting to all of my ones and almost all eight barrels of my new $20s. We were about $300 shy of legitimately needing the $100s on the table, which has never happened out of necessity.

Last night jz convinced me to throw together a game for the Blackhawks game 6, so I scrounged six players together for $4/$8 O8 with a full kill to $8/$16. After the hawks won, we made it an OE game. The night was great, and I ran up about $180, to net $40 on the weekend. Just shy of $2k on the table over six players.

This Saturday is a $100 NLHE freezeout, followed by limit cash. I may try to run a game on Friday night. There is heavy interest in a $10/$20 limit game, and I think I might try to run $10/$20 HO for Friday. This would be an awesome game, as all five racks of red would get on the table, and the $100s would legitimately be needed for the game.

Sometimes all you need is a perfect storm

Raise PF from EP to 7x (standard) bunch of calls (standard), I flat 88 on the BTN

Flop comes 865

3- way all-in with 200bb+ effective

88 vs. 55 vs. 85

The 2 others are basically drawing to a runner-runner straight on the board for a split

88 hold and I scoop monster pot

This reminds me of a PLO8 hand we played a while back. This was the final hand of the night (not because of the outcome either!).

I see your PLO8 hand and raise you a Big O hand (to play into the big pot conversation in another thread). All the money went in on the flop.

Top right was short stacked, but he flopped the straight. The only questionable call was the Aces and Kings, since all he had was the flush draw.

As for my hand, I flopped the nut low and lucked into the nut flush. ;-)

Top left is super questionable as well in a high low game with a flush draw on the board.

Either way seems like a great game!

To left had a wrap and a flush draw, and she was also short stacked. It was also the last hand of the night. ;-)

Should've started with that! All rules go out the window on the last hand.
