My DVR has died and the cable company won't come out until Monday to look at it. So, no TV for me for three days. :'( So who wants to come over and play poker for three days??

HU4ROLLZ sounds like fun, except that I've got two poker meet ups already scheduled this year. Mrs. S will NOT go for #3.

A form of dealers choice.

We designate one player/seat as #1 per orbit at the beginning of the session. Usually with a simple high card deal. The deal then rotates from that player /seat (#1). Anybody can call Omaha Hi as his choice on his deal , but it can only be called twice per orbit. Then it reverts to NLH until the deal comes back to #1 for another orbit. It is optional and sometimes is not called, but with a full crew on hand there are some folks who always call it. So far it has worked out OK

At Daytona tonight, let's see if my card cover brings me luck (so far so good).

I hope your night ended as well as it appeared to start. Maybe we should start your own Chipstack thread.

Let's just say that Friday the 13th lived up to it's reputation. That shot was my peak for the evening. I ended the night down 300bb, my worst Daytona session in well over a year. Damn you and your unlucky chip, Breich, DAMN YOU!!!

While I misplayed a couple of hands, that happens every session. Mostly I just ran bad. The Daytona 2/5 game is super-loose, so there's not a ton of room for creative play. I play a very value-heavy game, and when my hands don't hold up and my draws don't hit, I lose. The good thing is that on an average night, I play well enough to profit, and when I run hot, I go home with very full pockets.

A few examples of how things went:
  • Red aces in SB, I 3b, LP limper calls, BTN raiser calls. Q-high flop, short stacked BTN donk-shoves, I shove for 80bb. Villain 2 gives the "I hate to do this to you guys" speech and calls with 45. He gets there ldo for a 250bb pot.
  • Limp, limp, LP raise, I'm OTB with red tens and three-bet, solid reg in SB and fishy raiser call. Flop 986, checks to me, I c-bet and SB calls, other villain folds. Q turn, check check. Q river, she shoves for about 3/4 pot, I tank for a good minute and fold. It felt like a flopped set, but I'm still not sure - probably need to analyze this one and see if my fold was a mistake.
  • I wasn't involved in this one, but a few hands later the same two villains (solid reg and fish) got AIPF in four bets with red AA vs AK for a 300bb pot. Of course it ran out three spades and fish scooped it all. The other villain was obviously tilted, so she left for some food and came back about 20 minutes later.
  • New player to my right limps, four other limpers (including me with 66) and a raise, then new player shoves a short stack. I tank call, all else fold, he flips 99 and it holds. Probably my worst mistake of the night - at best I'm flipping, at worst I'm crushed like I was, and there was only 7-8bb in the pot before he shoved.
  • Won a decent pot with 86s on 998xx board when straight and flush draws didn't get there. Lost it right back with A6 vs 66 on Axx6x.
  • Ended the night with TPGK vs TPWK vs weak flush draw. AI three ways on the flop, FD gives the same damned "I hate to do this to you guys" speech that a different villain gave earlier. TPWK hits his 3 kicker on the turn, flush draw gets there on the river. I go home.

Post this hand, I think it could be interesting.

The most important missing piece of information IMO is what is the range for a "solid reg" to flat a 3-bet OOP (missing effective stacks for this too).

Atlanta in April? Is this part of the joke or did I miss something in my prodigal attention here of late?

Not on Chip Talk, so that would explain it. However, I'd definitely be up for, at the very least, meeting up for dinner with folks.

Tonight is the first friday meeting of the Glenn Place Rounders that has been threatened by inclement weather for several years. I have Facebooked, Emailed and called the crew and told them I was still spreading a game despite very unfriendly forecasts. They were welcome if they wanted to brave the elements. For anyone who shows up, this might be a certain way to get on the degen list.

Could be possible if we can tear ourselves away from the degeneracy for a while.

Just saw the HPI thread when I accidentally clicked on stickies using the Tapatalk app...

You guys might want to consider moving that to the main forum and bumping it every now and then. The way stickies are hidden I never see them unless I'm active in a thread.

They've just about ruined Tapatalk. It was never great, but now it's just a jumbled mess of hidden links to random whatever.

Yep. Every time I get used to the latest version, they change it again. It's like they're intentionally trying to kill it.

I'm still happily using paid version 2.2.2 and it doesn't seem to update itself. I don't recall why I decided to pay for it, but considering what they've done to this app, it just may be the best three bucks (or whatever) I ever spent.

The last message I got from them admitted that they'd screwed it up, and were working on a fix. I've noticed marginal improvements, but only marginal.

The most recent update is much better than the one you guys are talking about. That version was why I wasn't on the forums for a while because it drove me nuts.
