KEM cards warping badly after just 1-2 uses?

Maybe it's the humidity, but 3-4 decks in a row are getting cards that are basically so warped they are marked

Anyone else having issues with KEM's lately? I don't want to switch but it's getting ridiculous....

Kems and many other plastic cards warp if they get too hot. For that matter, clay chips also deform when they get too hot.

How hot is too hot? Anything north of 100 degrees F is too hot. I flatten warped chips by heating them in the back of a car on a sunny day using a caulking gun and ceramic chips as spacers..

I have not tried fixing warped cards. I am not sure it can be done and likely not worth the effort.

They can't be fixed.
Call uspc to buy replacement cards.

I've used almost all cards, I prefer Copags if I don't use KEM but since that's what the casinos use I consider it a higher grade

However they are warping quickly, and only at 80 degree temps max, so wondering if maybe their quality went down

I know I just ordered a replacement deck and it was almost twice as thick as the exact same deck from the exact same seller that I previously got

thanks, good to know for the future

These are brand new decks that are warping within a week or two however

I know some gamerunners that keep the whole box in the refrigerator to avoid high temperatures and warping. pull them out a few hours before gametime.

alright thanks these people are letting it get up to 80 degrees during the game even sometimes, due to incompetance and some players having a really low AC toleralance so keep getting AC turned down xD

When I first started running my weekly home game, I was buying different brands of cards to test which ones we preferred. I liked the way the kems felt, but they warped within minutes of being out of the wrapper. I sent them back and ordered copags and have not looked back. I wish copag had more color/design options, but, it is what it is. We currently play in my shop and the cards are in an "outside" environment 24/7 and I have had no warping issue with the copags.

Sorry for the reviving such an old thread but I was wondering if the newer / thicker cards you got also got warped ?

I'm just wondering if they fixed their product and if brand new Kem produced nowadays will also get the warping issue.
