Clutch. I think we'll more easily attract a crowd if we stick to normal games like LHE/LO8, plus simple variants like Chicago.

Good to know I'm going to be called down by A highs. I remember to plan for that

You watch I'll be down hundreds in flips this year...

On a side note, if I remember to bring you a chip from last year I will, but if not I'll just mail one to you. I still have a few extras, but am starting to run out.

Second hotel room booked, same location - easy sharing on rides/whatever. It's a 30-minute trip to and from my place, but it's free, and the closest you can stay is 10-15 minutes away. All in all, I'll be out a few points for the trip, so we're all good.

So, you lose a half an hour extra of your lives twice a day for a weekend.

Both room start Thursday, one checks out Sunday day, the other Monday, JIC. Both are two queen bed affairs. Unsure if I booked one "resort" and one "tower" room, but they're places to sleep.

Thursday should still be low-limit, introductions, and beer tasting.

For Friday: My players are split between $0.25 sorts, who'll want to plunk down $20 at a crack, and those who'll use $100 bills. Consensus here seems to be that we'd like to advertise a mix game of "real" casino games (those found in HORSE, plus some minor variations) somewhere in the $3-6 fixed-limit range. I also expect a table of $1 blind NLHE/PLO. I imagine if things go well, there will be similar action happening, but for quarters on table 3. Here's hoping. There's going to be a table's worth of us at all times, so we're good, I believe, as long as I keep pounding the pavement with my local pool.

Although there's some variance on where we want the Mixed game, some Overs buttons (which I have) will help a great deal in solving any problems there.

I didn't get to adding to my chip set, and it might be too late. I've got other locals offering their additional chips, so we'll see how it plays out. I'll check with my guy and see if it's not too late to make some rush.

I'll be in one, and jzpiano & Breich will be in the other.

And again, it's greatly appreciated - you're saving me at least a couple hundred bucks, so I'm sure not going to complain about a few extra minutes of driving time. I haven't booked my LA-to-Phoenix flight yet, but I'm going to try to arrive Thursday afternoon.

Tasting or guzzling?

This sounds just about perfect. I'll probably spend most of my time at tables 1 & 2, but I'll jump in on the quarter game if they need players or I drink too much beer.

I was going to suggest this, sounds good to me.

I was talking about a small run of souvenir chips (less than a rack) for keepsakes, but you sound like you're concerned about having enough playable chips for the games.

If you need an additional tourney or cash set and can't get someone local to loan them to you, let me know. I can haul one of my sets with me.

Speaking of name tags and such, where the f has Palindrome been in this discussion! Was a trooper that came out last year and provided many of laughs. I don't think I've seen anything from him about attendance this year.

The webcast on the game will be a lot of fun and even better if we have the moment where Schmen gets bluffed out of a 20+BB pot for 1BB on the river by me so all HP can see .

Also fair warning....I am currently on a flip streak of 3 in a row now. Briech and I flipped for dinner yesterday and I came through with a clutch straight on my 7th card.
A lot of stuff has changed for me since last year. My work schedule changed so that I start at 6am and often work 10hr days, including a lot of work on the weekends. The end result is way less playing time for me and less time poking around in here.

I've been staying out of this thread for the most part because I knew I wouldn't be able to go this year. The wife is getting laid off in a few months and I need to save the coin. Keeping my fingers crossed for a chance to go next year if it happens!

I will have to be content with watching degen action on the webcast. I should mention that I can still make some name tags for you guys if you want them.

You will be missed this year, sir. However, I will reserve a seat for you in Orlando at HPI 2014.

Thanks for the offer on the name tags - I'll leave that one up to Pali. Again, I want to be sensitive to his home crowd and how much he wants them to know about the out of towners.

It's like the Olympics, you've got to start bribing those IOC officials early.

There's a dozen or so attending from the FB page, plus an additional number of my club guys who don't FB that sort of thing.

We're lookin' good.

I need to start sending reminders to the other 2+2 Phoenix area folks who don't normally attend my little games.

Most of the hard work done at this point.

The MAME machine still needs a touch of work, especially the light-guns.
The actual setup of tables in and around the house needs done.
I need to figure out what I'm going to do for tournament chips.
I'll be running errands most of Thursday day - keg, hotel rooms.
I need to figure out who'll pick up Saturday's Mexican food.
I'll also need to figure out if I'm putting a pork butt or something similar in the smoker for Friday.

How many you planning for the tourney? I can always bring out the set we used last year if we need it. Let me know as it isn't a big deal.

Under no circumstances do I want someone lugging chips as either their carry-on or their checked bag.

I honestly don't know what to expect. I haven't broken the invitations for individual days up. I have the chips my Wednesday club uses for tournament play, plus a number of cheaper sets here to augment it if necessary. Worst case, the tournament uses cheap chips, which I have in spades.

thesnuke already dropped off a second cash set, and I expect a couple racks of extra chips from ABC to show up before Friday for my main cash set.
