Thursday Night Beerfest suggested prop bets:
  • Loudest belch
  • First to misread his hand but still win the pot
  • First to fall out of his chair

Damn it. I just realized that I'll have the rental car and am likely the DD.

You don't want to play for a mirron so the nit has to sit out

If it makes you feel any better I almost changed your avatar in the picture to a picture of the banhammer.

RFID table upgrades complete.

Three new cameras, new computer, new internals with Omaha support.

Awesome, cannot wait.

Also got approval today to go to SIGGRAPH. The bad news is that this kills any hope of a pre-HPI trip to Vegas. The good news is that my travel costs will be significantly lower.

iirc, these tables have webcams that broadcast, right?

Schmen,

Briech and I talked about it, but I don't think I mentioned it to you yet....

We are just going to share a room so then you can get the second one. That way we will all be in the same hotel and you can be the chauffeur

I believe they do, but Pali can confirm.

Honestly, when I booked I had totally forgotten about the RFID table. Now I'm very excited about the chance of playing on it. Hopefully Pali will be able to stream some of it for those folks who couldn't make it.

Pali, when are RFID chips on the horizon?!

Works for me, I'll gladly drive the bus in exchange for a solo room.

I told Mrs. S she could check up on me by watching the live stream of our games, and she just rolled her eyes. How did I end up marrying a woman with barely a geeky bone in her body?

I've got a sample RFID chip that Joe @ PGI gave me, I'll be glad to bring it for testing purposes.

Last year we had nametags and trophies for the Main Event. Any desire to do either/both this year?

I'm not sure how many of Pali's local players know about 2+2, and as always we'll want to respect his wishes on how much we let them know.

Last I checked we're going to a 72 degrees room full of poker tables and degens =)

I'll take 110 degrees and low humidity over the typical Florida summer 90s (temperature and humidity) anytime. Down here, you walk outside most days and you're soaked before you have a chance to start sweating.

I'll agree with this 100%. I just moved to the Phoenix area last year after spending my whole life in northeastern NC. Humidity sucks. At least out here, when it's 110, the shade offers some relief. You're not getting any relief from 90+ degree heat with 90% humidity.

Any further ideas on tables/games? I really really really would love a $4/$8 or $5/$10 all limit table. I'm sorry, just getting more and more excited about a full weekend of degen-ery...

I'm working on attracting a crowd that'll have some higher limit players.

A few of us were discussing the game while sitting 5-500 spread, so we'll probably be OK.

Yes, we webcast the game, with a delay. If anyone needs to not appear on camera, we'll work out the placement so we're showing the back of heads or something.

111 degrees? You must be joking. It's only expected to be 106 with humidity near 20% . It is actually a dry heat -- like a toaster oven is! Also, should be in the 70's in my house.

Pali, sounds good. Definitely let us know when you get games figured out. I'm trying to decided what kind of cash I need to bring....

Speaking of name tags and such, where the f has Palindrome been in this discussion! Was a trooper that came out last year and provided many of laughs. I don't think I've seen anything from him about attendance this year.

The webcast on the game will be a lot of fun and even better if we have the moment where Schmen gets bluffed out of a 20+BB pot for 1BB on the river by me so all HP can see .

Also fair warning....I am currently on a flip streak of 3 in a row now. Briech and I flipped for dinner yesterday and I came through with a clutch straight on my 7th card.

Just a reminder of my preferences:
  • Mixed limit 3/6 or lower
  • NLHE/PLO/PLO8 1/1 or lower
  • Drunken 1/2FL crazy games on Thursday

I expect to win, of course, but I want to bring enough to survive a weekend of runbad and still be able to play through the final hand.

He pops into HP once in a while but has been pretty quiet lately, and nothing about HPI. Too bad, he was a ton of fun last year.

Never ever ever folding in that spot, sir. Seventh street in 7CS, and I'm snapping you off with A-high.

Also, commemorative chips? It's too late to get anything from ASM, but I can probably get Joe at PGI to do a small run for me before the end of the month.
