I hate everything that has to do with IWTSTH.

Tipping Threads.
There's nothing wrong with these, it's just that the mods and thin skinned posters overreact and flip out if two people happen to disagree and anyone calls someone else a name. The topic is very relevant, with regards to winrates, stack depths, house earnings, etc.

Please, for the love of God, turn over the effing cards and let's move on.

I find the current winner interesting, in that we don't actually spend much time discussing it with new players at all.

I'm a tard so I'm going to guess that IWTSTH means "I Want To See The Hand?"

If so - close between that and Who shows first... practically the same question.

If you beat a player, be happy, scoop your pot and move on. If the showdown hasn't been determined - just flip your cards over.

I don't see any of them, in and of themselves as annoying. How the question is asked and the circumstances surrounding the event is what I think can be annoying.

p.s. you forgot " Can I bring my Glock to a home game"......lol

i'm surprised by the lack of announcing bets love there is. I know that is not a rule, but I guarantee that 90% of the disputes i need to resolve at my home , are around betting intention.

Users throwing in one chip and if it is a call or raise. People not throwing in enough chips for a legal raise (is it a call or a raise).

Before each game, i give a speech where i ask players to announce betting intention prior to throwing out chips.. because that is where i spend most of my time having to stop games for.

While this is true it is also easily resolved.

One chip rule. No verbal. I'ts a call.
Not enough for a legal raise. No verbal. It's a call.
If you don't verbalize your intent then your actions speak for you. I'm 100% for clarifying intent but after asking a player several times if his one chip bet is a call or raise, explaining that he needs to verbalize if he wants to raise, and warning him that next time it will stand as a call, I'm done with clarifying and intent. Do it correctly or face the consequences.

If you do as you say then be strict about enforcement. They have all been warned. Stop asking what their action is. Just call it. Player X throws out an oversized chip. You say player X calls. Player X wants to argue raise just explain rule and move on

The dispute is really about somebody wanting something to happen that is against the rules.

As in.....the big blind was 100 and I put out one 500 chip and the dealer said it was just a call i wanted to raise but he wouldn't let me, it was sooooo obvious I was raising there because i had 100 chips that i could have used for a call. He's such a rules nazi because of him 3 others called too and the cutoff cracked my aces with 5,3 suited...boo hoo. whats the ruleing guys should I have been allowed to raise?...Thats what gets annoying.

The rule for most things on that list are well established. Doesn't seem to keep us from talking about them.

Exactly my point. It's not the topics, or how frequently they may get asked, thats annoying.

I think the underlying problem is not educating our players to the rules that you play by BEFORE a situation arises.

Knowing the speed limit and getting pulled over for a ticket places all the blame on YOU.

Not having a posted speed limit and getting pulled over puts all the blame on those responsible for posting the signs.

Someone that knows the speed limit should be held responsible for breaking the law. They know that and you know that.

Be reasonable with punishment, but consistent.
