Lately, I've played with copag 4 color cards. They're absurd. And over the weekend, I was at a tourney using those silly no-peek cards. After about one or two rotations around the table, we swapped them out. They too were absurd. I don't understand the need to make those kind of gimmicky cards. They're so ridiculous.

A couple other gimmicky cards that come to mind are the Copag EPOC (w/ the black background instead of white) and the Magnums w/ numbers that take up a third of the card. I've played with both and I almost forgot I was playing poker since everyone was so damn distracted playing w/ such radical decks.

I like 2-pip jumbo index poker size.

Preferred make is Modiano Platinum Acetate (wins hands-down) followed by Copag and Fournier plastic cards.

I also have 4-pip 4-colour jumbo index cards from Copag, only use them for demonstration purposes.

The Fournier Poker Vision 4-pip cards are collecting dust - wow those suck, and every evening at least one player confuses a 6 with a 9.

I might try magnum index some time but I'll get new glasses instead first.

KEM, Gemaco, Fournier or Dal Negro in bridge size with standard index.

I got a plastic deck from the FTP store for some reason, they have last longer than any Kem/Copags I have used. FTP cards are my fav behind Copags.

Who the F voted Bicycle, those things are bent after one deal...

Ordered a setup each of Desjgn and Cartamundi bridge size from Caragails today - will get them in play soon and see how players react to the smaller cards.

I still don't understand how anybody can say anything else but Gemaco (obv. bridge size and standard index). They've got the best pictures by so far, the whitest white, the perfect thickness/hardness. Just flat out perfect. Whaddaya think why they play HSP and PAD with those bad boys??? Ya? Ya??? There ya go.

I hate to get this thread back on track, but...

In an attempt to be open-minded, I ordered the club:
  • Cartamundi Casino Plastic Set - Jumbo Index - (2 Decks - Black/Gold)
  • FOURNIER Snowflake Design - Jumbo Index / Bridge Size (Red/Blue)
  • Modiano Cristallo 4 PiP JUMBO (2 Decks - Teal / Magenta)

Three brands, six colors, mostly Bridge/Jumbo though, as I like bridge size, but we have a few blind folk

...and in a couple of seasons, we'll re-order based on having tried a lot of cards (as we've used others before these).

This is an older thread worth reading. It is linked on the HP FAQ.

Bump to a 10 year old thread......

I have a couple decks each of Modiano Club and Copag that we use in our home game. Absolutely cannot stand the look of the faded Copags. The Modianos are very nice and have a more heftier feel. Back in the day we used to use a set of KEM Arrows that I kind of now miss........that extreme flexibility took a little to get used to but they are much more easy to shuffle and deal than the Modianos. I think I'll try a set of KEMs for our next game (haven't played with KEMS since about 2005).

Kem and Copag used to be the standard/most popular choices back when I kept track of this stuff. It's been several years since I went looking for quality cards, I wonder if any newcomers have popped on the scene with good products.

I use primarily Kems. Most beautiful cards I’ve ever seen. I have various other brands. I have bicycles with large index when I have certain people playing who don’t have great eyesight. I loved the bicycle WSOP cards back in the day.

I have all the plastic cards and they are great. But nothing beats a fresh deck of paper - Tally-HO Fan Backs, Bicycle Fan Backs, or Aristocrat Bank Notes. Just wish I had bought a couple cases of Aristocrat Bank Notes in green when they were available.
