I am looking at ordering the stuff to build my own table as I just sold the one I had. I am looking at ordering the kit listed below. My main questions are....

- should I build an oversized table (maybe 9' x 48" rather than the standard 8' 42") There are times where we play with 10-11 people so that is why I am considering this.

- should I go with open cell 1/4" foam or 1/4" volara foam for the playing surface

- should I go with 55lb or 70lb foam for the rails

- should I go with velveteen or suited speed cloth? I want the action and feel of the table to be as close to casino quality as possible. My old table had a rough playing surface and I have not played on one that someone can give me some input on what material it is aside from the casino tables.

9' is huge, 44x96 is enough space for up to 11 players. 9' tables aren't ridiculous though, just really big.

Closed cell foam for the playing surface is ideal

70lb foam, it's much better and more comfortable

Neither, casinos use gaming suede. Velveteen is ok, but not waterproof and cards don't slide as well as suited speed cloth. SSC has great card slide but is rough. Gaming suede is soft and it has great card slide and is waterproof.

Any recommendations on where I can get a decent price on all of this stuff in one location?

Yes yourautotrim has most of the stuff. For gaming suede you would have to find someone who makes custom cloths for poker tables (like me). Gaming suede isn't available in standard colors, it comes white and is dyed with the colors and designs. If you're on a budget then you may want to stick to suited speed cloth which is also available at yourautotrim.
