Very nice I've also sent you an email. Hope I'm not a pain in the ass

Oh not at all. I'm the one who was a pain by putting these out there two months before I could make them available.

Since no one has mention it, I'll mention it. Surrender usually mean you lose more than if you played the hand and lose 2 out of 3 but you don't lose as much as getting scooped. Personally, I've only played at Bike and Garden City (Commerce was too rich for my blood: they had a $100 game going and a $25 interest list. noooo thank you) and both those places don't allow surrender because of all the royalties so I've never actually experienced the concept of surrender.

Aside: royalties really change the game; you're playing for royalties instead of trying to scoop because royalties are worth so much more. I was grilled once for breaking up quad fours to make two pair two pair pair instead of quads weak pair weak pair.

I agree with this. I wasn't sure to make it 2 or 3 to surrender, because I've seen so many rulesets go on either side of the line.

Tho' this ruleset supports surrender being the same as losing 2: http://www.pagat.com/partition/pusoy.html

But I like to encourage people to play and not surrender.

Bottom line: whatever rules you want for Chinese, that's what I'll give you.

Back design looks nice. One of the guys I play with is chomping at the bit to see these things.

I also sent an interest email... Just wanted to make sure it didn't end up in the Spam folder or anything.

We are in production mode!

Of course, being a perfectionist, I'm never happy. The draw section seems very light, and the WSOP has an "Adaci" 2-7/Badugi variant where Ace is high in the Badugi hand. I'm going to add both that and California Split, then remove the Thermonuclear Pineapples (why play that when Armageddon is just around the corner anyway?). I think THAT will be a good balance.

For those who want the expansion pack, the 16 red Big Bet cards can be whatever you like. I picked 2 each of the game formats, NL and PL versions. The studs were chosen because of 4 betting rounds and an exposed 7th, making them more suited to the format.

I'm going to create a new thread once I'm finally done tweaking, and when I get a new website set up. This project has been a blast; glad I'm finally able to get back on it. Thanks for all your help and support!

(Oh, these are $40 for the 64 set, plus $10 for the 16-card Big Bet expansion, $5 shipping inside the continental US. All sets include the gray instruction cards, Chinese, and Guts. Email pfapoker@gmail.com to order.)

I can't wait to get these. I've already been talking them up in anticipation for our mixed game next month. They look super sick. Nice work!

I now have six sets made. Now that I have the rhythm down, I hope to get another 4 finished tonight. I'll be visiting the post office in the morning.

To think this started off as a dozen or so cards.

I think I speak for many here: thanks for being so crazy!

by the way, I've never played any games with 'bugs'. Can anyone elaborate on that?

(of course I can google, but once in a while I like to be lazy, especially on a holiday while it is sunny and 25C outside

edit: oke, googled, so it's just one or two jokers and these are wild cards
04-25-2011 , 04:03 PM
The Bugs are described on the cards. You only use one, not two.

For highball games, they act as an Ace, or complete a straight or flush. They are NOT just generally wild.

For lowball games, they're wild.
