That's the thing: these HELP with mixed games. People I never thought would ever try these were picking the MOST complicated games the very first time I used them. Having the graphics show what's expected really helps. People no longer feel lost and confused, they have a clear roadmap.

Here's a good starter set of 12: Texas Hold'em, Crazy Pineapple, Omaha, Omaha 8, 7 Card Stud, Razz, Stud 8, Q, Gardena Jackpots, California Lowball, Kansas City Lowball, Badugi

Three flop, three stud, three draw. Includes all the HORSE games. Only 3 split pot games, and 1 one them doesn't have a qualifier.

I can help with that. The site has a few suggestions. Any goals? I think for my next personal set, I'm going to do Hold'em/Pineapple as Orange, Omaha as Yellow, Stud as Green, and Draw as Blue. Then when I make a PL/NL set, that will be Red.

Another way to do it for a 24 card set would be 8 high-only games, 8 hi/lo counterparts, and then 8 goofy games.

The first set should be most regular, 'normal' games. The sets you first made weren't all logical to me. I'd rather see games that are being played on the wsop, and/or are being played online.

So ar least the 8 game games, badugi, kansas city lowball, and maybe pineapple and crazy pineapple to go with it.

From there Ill take your advice.

Yeah, a Chinese card would be good. If you do a full 52 card set, I'll consider it.

52 was my intention anyway I'm a sucker for mixed games so I want to try, learn and play everything I can get my hands on. Only wish my friends want the same, but hopefully these cards are going to help me with that

That's a great point. These cards could make noobies more willing to give them a try, because the rules are easily and quickly understood. So for those of us who want to play more mixed games, this would make a great training and sales tool.

A WSOP set is HORSE plus 2-7TD, at least as far as FL is concerned. You'd be surprised how many of these can be found in casinos. Call up Treasure Island and ask about their bucket of orange discs.

It's likely I'll be whipping up PL/NL cards soon, so if you're waiting for that, just let me know and we'll get it going. It won't be nearly the same variety, but it'd be nice to have separate cards for an 8-game, and there are a couple Stud and Draw variants that can work with big bet as well.

Here are some suggested groupings, based on game type. The first batches are fairly straightforward, then all the really goofy stuff in the last one.

Those groups look pretty good. I would want them color-coded by group, ie, a color for each group.

I would also want the games which are often played pot limit to be offered that way.

You could set up a web form on your site, to allow folks to put a checkmark next to the game cards they want, and have columns for the cards that are offered as FL, PL, NL.

An idea for further categorizing at home is to get little colored stickers to put on them (either front or back). That way all your Omahas are the same card color, but you can quickly sort out the crazy variants. Tho' in the end it doesn't really matter. Even if you didn't agree with my color choices on the first set, the set as a whole was incredibly usable. I think the easiest way is just sorting by game type.

The PL/NL versions will likely have an icon in the corner, or some other quick visual reference (in addition to listing PL/NL before the game name). And of course they won't have "SB/BB" distinctions.

But all this (plus web forms) will be after I get more than two orders. What happened to all the people claiming they wanted a set...?

I have a game to add, invented by someone I know.

He called it 6-card throw 'em

6 down cards each;

discard one card face up preflop after betting

flop

discard one card face down

turn

discard one card face down

river

discard last card face down

you have to play the two cards you end up with plus three cards from the board.

he played it PL preflop and no limit post flop, although I always thought that's a bit silly.

Throw 'em...I like the name.

We play a game here called Mario: its basically a fixed limit 5-card draw hi/lo with a declare. (You can also play it without a declare)

You get to arrange your cards in any way to show strength or weakness on the reveal. Its structured betting: $1 before the draw, $2, after you expose your first card. Best hand showing always starts the betting. $3 on the next card exposed. $4 on the next. $5 on the next card. At any time in the betting, some one can raise by doubling the last bet. There is a limit to three (or four, I cant recall right now) raises per round.

At this point, you still have one more card down, and not exposed. You have to declare if your going for the high or low. You declare by grabbing some chips in your hand, and at the same time, everyone reveals either 1-chip (for LOW) or 2-chips (for HIGH), or 3-chips (for SCOOP).

Finally, you expose your final card, and your hand is revealed.

The LOW does not need to qualify, it just needs to be the lowest hand (A is high and low).

If you have the wheel (A-5), its a scoop of the high and low (providing someone cant beat a straight for the high).

If you declare a SCOOP, you must win BOTH. If you dont, you LOOSE both.

One of the fun aspects of the game is HOW you order your cards for the reveal. You can play all kinds of mind games with people.

When PFAP returns from his sabbatical, I'd like to know how many orders he has. I would probably never get to use these, but I am still tempted.

I'm hoping to get to sort my wishes out this weekend and then order a set.

I'd like to see pfap make up a card for Mishegaas. I wrote up the rules, once, for new players to try to get an idea. I think the writeup was 6 pages long (though, it did include an explaination of the "pig" rule that the group uses).

I think I got mine; partly based on some sort of logic, partly based on feeling. Tried to make at least one group with the games that some of us already have played and/or are pretty regular in home games, casino's, internet, wsop etc. The rest I tried to sort them that when you know at least the rules of the games of the previous group, you'll be able to figure out fast these ones. Also tried to mix it up a little.

pfapfap, I'm pretty curious how the Chinese card would look like. Is there also room for the scores of royalties and naturals?

I'm no longer pushing the "color code by difficulty" concept. It worked really well for the first few times we used them, but I think long term people are going to want to easily pick a game by form.

So now I'm pimping the 60-card set for $40, which includes one color for Hold'em/Pineapple, one for Omaha, one for Stud, one for Draw, and one for a collection of common PL/NL games (slightly different card format). I think if you want to sort by difficulty after that, a good way would be to get little colored stickers and put them either on the front
or back. That way it's easy to find the game type AND difficulty level.

I do have several orders. Unfortunately the lamination machine is taking its sweet time in getting here. Haven't made up the Chinese card yet, but once I do I'll include it in every set.
