So – first home game

I have a board game table [with a vault]

So I thought I had the best cards – Bicycle [poker sized – jumbo index]

Perfect

Except right from the start the cards got bent too much, too easily

Made them look like cheap / nasty cards

What are the best cards for poker [?]

As in still nice for the dealer – but they don’t bend and misshape [and definitely not right from the first hand]

I realise having the vault means that cards are going to be ‘peaked’ at in a way more likely to cause damage – but I was shocked at how the Bikes performed

So would love some advice

Ideally I would want the best brand – and in jumbo index [poker sized]

Thanks for any help, advice, or abuse

See the FAQ. This is a broad topic and it's well covered there.

Copag and KEM generally loved and place 1 and 2 depending on who you ask.

And for clarity, the reason they are what you want for poker is that they are plastic cards.

Paper or even plastic coated cards don't hold up well after a very few sessions. We had somebody donate a red/blue Bicycle case of 24 (I think) paper decks a few years ago. Anyway they often did not survive intact more than one session. Consider plastic.

No one clarifies my post and gets away with it.

Put me in the Copag column. I'm sure Kem makes quality cards as well. I went to buy my first set of plastic cards and Copag was cheaper, so I went with them. Have not had a single complaint about them from any player, I have no complaints as well.

I happen to like the Bicycle Prestige plastic cards. However, since the games I attend are always rotated dealer, some people complain the cards are too slippery. But in reality, they just want to play cards and never want to shuffle at all.
