If the leaks I read are correct, meh pretty disappointing. Escalating levels of cool but dumb aka the last several seasons.

Loved this episode. I couldn't make out the convo between Jon and Dany when he was holding her hand and said he'll bend the knee. It was all muffled and had to rewatch it several times but couldn't make out what Dany said to him. It's bothering me and I don't want to google anything GOT related in fear of being spoiled for future eps. Can someone transcribe that convo for me? Cheers.

Per reddit

Jon is there with his wounds, laying in a bed, and we know what happens symbolically in that moment. Because awayfromthelads part 2 gave us that page from the script. What does that page say? Well very simple. In that page basically Jon in bed, Daenerys is very concerned about him, Jon tries to comfort her, Daenerys says the famous phrase "For me it's like if it was my son, it's like if my son was killed, what a shame what a great shame." Daenerys tells Jon "I promise to defeat the Night King" and all that, then Jon is like "Really? You're saying you want to defeat the Night King... that's what I wanted... Huh... I'm going to take advantage" and it's here that Jon bends the knee in a figurative way. Because, after this talk, and Jon tells her: "Dany" and Daenerys says: "Dany? It's been a long time since someone's called me that. My brother called me Dany." [Jon] "then what do you want me to call you, your grace? What do you want me to call you, majesty?" [Daenerys] "no no" after all the things that have happened, Jon is thinking "I have her on the boat." And Jon says, "I would bend the knee... but I'm wounded." He says he's wounded, and he can't bend the knee, cause he's wounded. Then Daenerys is like (*FD gasps*) "you'd bend the knee? What about those that are loyal to you?"

from the subtitle.
I'm too lazy to put the names on every quote, but you can understand it.

583
01:01:32,270 --> 01:01:34,271
I'm sorry.

584
01:01:35,978 --> 01:01:38,252
I'm so sorry.

585
01:01:48,954 --> 01:01:51,016
I wish I could take it back.

586
01:01:53,229 --> 01:01:55,291
I wish we'd never go.

587
01:01:58,657 --> 01:01:59,658
I don't.

588
01:02:01,568 --> 01:02:03,842
If we hadn't gone I wouldn't have seen.

589
01:02:05,670 --> 01:02:07,338
You have to see it to know.

590
01:02:09,369 --> 01:02:11,036
Now I know.

591
01:02:14,007 --> 01:02:15,948
The dragons are my children.

592
01:02:16,905 --> 01:02:20,664
They're the only children I'll ever have.

593
01:02:26,859 --> 01:02:30,193
We are going to destroy the Night King
and his army.

594
01:02:30,891 --> 01:02:32,831
And we'll do it together.

595
01:02:34,197 --> 01:02:36,046
You have my word.

596
01:02:39,411 --> 01:02:40,776
Thank you, Dany.

597
01:02:42,513 --> 01:02:43,756
Dany...

598
01:02:45,666 --> 01:02:47,698
Who was the last person who called me that?

599
01:02:49,268 --> 01:02:51,663
I'm not sure, was it my brother?

600
01:02:52,239 --> 01:02:54,937
Not the company you want to keep.

601
01:02:56,151 --> 01:02:57,425
Alright.

602
01:02:59,001 --> 01:03:00,608
Not Dany.

603
01:03:04,324 --> 01:03:06,143
How about "My Queen"?

604
01:03:09,599 --> 01:03:10,842
I'd...

605
01:03:11,509 --> 01:03:12,509
bend the knee but...

606
01:03:13,207 --> 01:03:15,238
What about those who
swore allegiance to you?

607
01:03:15,702 --> 01:03:18,674
They'll all come to see
you for what you are.

608
01:03:34,051 --> 01:03:35,324
I hope I deserve it.

609
01:03:37,476 --> 01:03:38,689
You do.

610
01:03:59,024 --> 01:04:01,389
You should get some rest.

Arya and Dany are such god awful actresses. This episode especially highlighted that, good actresses could have killed their scenes
08-16-2017 , 12:42 PM
Agree about arya, she's the worst. Not buying that character and story line at all. Im oke with danny. Bad episode imo.. the whole were surrounded by white walkers and wait for danny to save the day was pretty stupid. Also why the hell didnt danny just burn the night's king at any point in that fight..? Would have saved them alot of trouble.. Also the pacing this episode was off the charts.
08-16-2017 , 01:45 PM
Arya was really fantastic in the first few seasons but I agree, Maisie's last few years have been weird and she isn't selling her 'badass assassin' character very well.
08-16-2017 , 02:03 PM
my gf had like 40min to watch before going to work (too afraid to go to work and get spoiled there) so we decided to skip all scenes outside of the beyond the wall stuff and it was great lol

arya confirmed the nutlow
08-16-2017 , 02:46 PM
I blame grrm and d&d for this more than Maisie. She was cast to play the Arya from game of thrones not winds of winter. That means she was a young girl cast to play an even younger girl. It's very hard to now overcome that, skip a 5 year gap, and be an intimidating assassin.

Even if the ages of Arya and Maisie are now about correct, Maisie was still originally cast for her young looks and she hasn't exactly led the same life Arya has... she's not at all cast for this.

Doesn't help that her entire plot has been horrendous on the show since she got to braavos.
08-16-2017 , 02:47 PM
Episode itself was incredibly stupid as was to be expected given what the premise was.
08-16-2017 , 03:11 PM
I kinda like the Arya/Sansa scene. It had a cheesiness factor that was great
08-16-2017 , 03:34 PM
I feel like they just don't know what the Arya character is. Not saying I do, it's just that the writing for her is all over the place.
08-16-2017 , 05:09 PM
Arya criticism doesn't go over well in the No Bookreaders thread, lots of marks falling for the Girl Kicks Badguy Ass trope that she embodies.

Terrible actress + bad / one dimensional character = "IVE GOT A DEATH LIST GRRRRR NEEDLE". Yawn.
08-16-2017 , 05:09 PM
Which is to say nothing of the 1.5 seasons of stick fighting. A man has no time for that ****.
08-16-2017 , 05:28 PM
What are the odds that Arya has taken Littlefinger's face already?
08-16-2017 , 06:06 PM
I actually expected Sansa to find LF's face in Arya's bag, that would've been a real shocker.
08-16-2017 , 06:17 PM
Did anyone have a decent stream? Mine was a bit crappy but had to watch.

Is this how NK gets past the Wall, literally flys his army over it a few at a time?

they are straight warp travelling now lol.
08-16-2017 , 08:47 PM
I am assuming NK can just burn a hole through the wall with his new dragon.

This season has been very tilting. Why didn't Sansa and Arya go talk to their Tree God brother Bran to verify each other's stories? Do the undead have no ranged weapons? White Walkers seemed pretty filthy with a javelin hitting a moving dragon from a few hundred feet - seems like those skills would be an easy way to break a frozen lake siege. Does a raven from the wall fly faster than an unladen swallow?

Although lol @ Dany's 'he's too little' line w/ Tyrion. A+ comedy gold.
08-16-2017 , 08:59 PM
The dragon dying was very sad
08-16-2017 , 09:01 PM
Arya is indeed the woat. Bad writing and bad acting. Bad combo.
08-16-2017 , 09:02 PM
All the conversations while they were marching north of the wall were gold. Hound GOAT.
08-16-2017 , 09:28 PM
arya's such a ****

she was my favorite character for the first 5 seasons and now shes just insane
