Do you still think Jon is Ned's nephew and Raegar's son? Do you agree that the kidnapping wasn't a kidnapping?

EDIT: BTW everyone, if that's all true, doesn't it give Jon Snow a claim to the throne from the Targ lineage?

I'm all about the Ned's sister and Rhaegar are Jon Snow's real parents theory. Just makes so much more sense with regard to Ned's character. This leading to an endgame of Jon and Dany getting married and ruling Westeros with Tyrion as the hand of the king and Arya as the head of the king's guard would be a-ok with me.

wouldn't that make Jon and Dany half brother and sister? I mean, I know incest happens in this world, but still?

Wasn't Cersei or Jamie's justification for being together that the Targaryans wed brother and sister all the time? So Jon being related (and a Targaryan) makes it more fitting for them to marry, not less. That's part of why I like the theory so much.
03-20-2014 , 01:07 PM
hmmm, good point! I def agree that Ned fathering a bastard seemed unlikely all along so I guess this theory makes sense.
03-20-2014 , 01:56 PM
There's also the possibility that Ned's sister was already pregnant by King Robert when she and Rhaegar ran away together. That would make Jon Snow not only NOT a Targaryen, but it also makes him King Robert's son and the true heir to the 7 kingdoms!
03-20-2014 , 01:58 PM
ya but there was also that line that Cersei spoke, about 1 of however many Targ children being fkd up from the inbreeding. I believe it was Cersei speaking to Tyrion, I think that this day in age in the GOT world civilization has moved beyond the brother sister getting married stuff being acceptable/a good idea

The thing is, either way it works out, how do we learn about it? Leanna is dead. Ned Stark is dead. Cat is dead. Robert's dead. Rhaegar is dead. Jon doesn't know jack ****.

I like this

but if it were the case then it would be very unlikely that Ned would keep it a secret from King Robert imo. Not to mention Robert might've known she was pregnant at the time

Melisandre knew Gendry had king's blood somehow
03-20-2014 , 02:09 PM
OMG LADY M!!

She said to Stannis, "There are others with King's blood." Not "there is another", but "there are otherS."

Could it be?

ooooh, this would be fun. No idea how it'd be discovered/proven by the remaining characters but it'd have exciting implications.

we know that the old Targaryen dude at the wall has king's blood too right

"Next time I see you, you'll be all in black"

"it was always my color. "

"the seed is strong"

Promising theory.

I skimmed over the rbk stuff, but it just seems to be another example of why differentiating between the 'good' bookreaders vs. the 'bad' ones is a lesson in futility that will perpetuate itself daily once the show starts up.

I'll be announcing those decisions soon too.
no worries I fully understand why they want this thread free of book readers.

cheers.

Perhaps it wasn't a kidnapping. We see how badily some of the ladies in Westeros want to be Queen. Why not the Stark girl falling for a prince?

Yes, it would have given Jon a claim to the throne before he took the black. Which is where my theory originally started: Ned knew that Jon would not be safe if it was known he is a Targ. He also probably didn't trust Jon enough not to get himself killed or his wife Cat enough to keep that secret. He was willing to take the burden of having Jon in Winterfell as his bastard if that kept him safe. That was the reason (I hypothesize) he originally took Jon, to protect him from what he probably saw as a disgusting slaughter of the Targ children.

edit: just curious what happens when u "get infracted"?
03-21-2014 , 01:19 AM
I am extremely confused, whats the point of saying that then? Like if he can, then why even have it? You just set bad precedents. Its insane.

Its not like some random oot thread where you create a rule to keep the fools at bay, the rule is in place(presumably) to prevent possible spoils. Easily one of the worst mods. Congrats.

If you wanted the rule to be, bookreaders, dont post unless I know you, then make it that.

I mean for a good poster 20 infraction points does nothing long term. So its kind of pointless to show your have no backbone over something that, hypothetically, doesnt matter.

In before creative 'u mad' comment.

The fact that rbk is still posting is probably the best part too.
03-21-2014 , 01:27 AM
oh I'm sorry did me posting to ask what happens if you get infracted spoil u on whether or not I had been infracted?

i apologize, thought that had been covered in season 2, forgot it wasn't until book 5.
03-21-2014 , 01:30 AM
The rule is I infract people when they act like jerks and/or *******s.

See?

In before CCuster is exiled from this thread. If you ask me, the best part is what a whiny little bitch you're being.
03-21-2014 , 01:32 AM
The rule is people who post more than once "whatsoever" get infracted or temp banned. Wtf are you on about?
