This whole plan seems waaaaaay overly complicated and coincidental.

Not only that, but suppose Sansa did get captured by the Lannisters. How long do you think it takes to break her into saying who she got the necklace from? So she gives up the fool in like 30 seconds. Now they capture the fool. How long do you think he gets tortured until he gives up Olenna? Game Over.

Ha David Chase did the same thing in Sopranos with Vito (he was a totally different guy in s1)

We have learned that every single scene in this show has a very important purpose. What's a plausible explanation for the fool giving Sansa the necklace scene? We know she wears it at the wedding, Olynna appears to grab a gem, and Sansa is a great scapegoat for people who want to kill Joffrey. Why else show that scene in the 1st episode? I don't think Sansa is in on it not only because she doesn't really seem capable and is always oblivious to everything but also because it would be pretty lame writing to show that fool scene and hide her poison motives.

...that he's involved in a suicidal mission to assassinate the King?

This is a good point. I dunno, none of the theories make a lick of sense to me, I'm sure the book readers are getting great entertainment from reading this thread.

I think that was the best episode of the series for me, was completely shocked that Joff was offed like that, and for me the next episode is the most anticipated one of the series (so ****ing tempted to just spoil myself).

People saying it was Sansa putting something in the cup,

Tyrion looks into the empty cup after she hands it to him, so either he saw the poison and said **** it, or it wasn't Sansa.
04-15-2014 , 08:56 PM
Sansa didn't put anything in the cup. Joffrey drank from it after Sansa had it and was fine. It wasn't until he ate pie and drank the 2nd time that he got sick.

Some seriously simple-simon-ass mother****ers ITT. With all the palace intrigue in this show, this plot is the one that's too complicated? Do you think you can just, like, sneak up behind Tywin Lannister and push him down a flight of stairs?

You get to witness a masterful plot twist carried out by awesome, entertaining characters and all you can do is get confused and critique their strategy. Let's see you chumps go seize a crown somewhere IMO.

The poison was obviously from the pie he ate not the wine he drank amirite?

after a second watch tonight, there is zero chance that the pie was poisoned. Joffery takes atleast 3 bites over the course of a minute or so, during which time he is giving a speach to Tyrion about not being able to leave because he is the cup bearer. No more than 10-20 seconds after he takes a drink of wine because the pie is dry does he start choking.

I'm not convinced on the gem being the poison either. Olenna grabs one of Sansa's braids, and it doesn't really look like she touches the necklace. It DOES however, look like a gem is missing afterwords, so i'm not sure what to think about that.

So you're saying it can't be the pie cause u think the effects of the poison have to be instantaneous? You don't think the poison might take a minute or two before it starts affecting him?
04-15-2014 , 10:24 PM
Ygritte as the most popular character in the UK is far and away the most lol part of that poster

i think is plausible given the effects of the poison that Lady M and whoever the other guy was that drank it last season.
