Also Dany has that vision in the House of Undying where she's standing in the throne room at King's Landing and snow is falling through the burnt out roof. Nothing is in this show on accident. Whether or not that exact scenario happens I don't know but she's certain to confront and vie for restoration of the Targaryen dynasty. Well, at least for herself. She doesn't intend to have children. None of this has been building into nothing. Zero characters have been 'killed off' randomly in the entire series and it isn't going to start now.

As a viewer I feel like I'm being led towards an inevitable dragons vs zombies showdown and it'd be refreshing to think a surprise is still possible.

I think Bran is def the most un-killable character in the show right now.

And true about the whitewalkers vs dragons, but even if she's dead that doesn't mean that isn't possible. Maybe someone other than her can tame/ride them. Actually, now that I think about it, Bran has the ability to control animals, and as far as we know he's the only guy in the world who has the potential to control humans. Why not dragons?

I'm actually getting very excited at the prospect of Bran controlling dragons. Can't believe I didn't think of that before.

Finally got the bluray today. Haven't seen s3 in a while I'm excite to check out all that's on the discs. THAT WAS YOUR ONLY JOB TARLEY.

I agree that Daenerys and Bran currently have plot armor.

I don't see Sansa as being safe, though. They've been teasing an open conflict between Tyrion and Joffrey and portraying Joffrey as a threat to Sansa forever. Joffrey causing Sansa's death would be an obvious way to get us some Lannister infighting.

That said, Tyrion currently lacks a power base that's independent of Tywin's wishes, so I'm not sure what he would do if put in a position where he can't coexist with Joffrey at the court. An assassination attempt or running away would be his options, I guess.

Trailer talk:

Spoiler:
Tywin on the throne, but still has his hand of the king broach on:

We see Tyrion in shackles in an earlier trailer-- my speculation is that Joffrey oversteps and has Tyrion arrested, Tywin councils (tells him) to back off, but Joffrey still doesn't get who's in charge and dismisses Tywin's veiled command. Despite Tywin's complex jumble of feelings regarding Tyrion, he is his only son eligible to be heir, and so this is when the veil is pulled back and Tywin simply has Joffrey locked away in a tower, and in his absence, of course, the hand of the king sits on the throne.

I kinda see Bran controlling WWs, not dragons. After all, he is up north with them right now.
03-15-2014 , 03:34 PM
The dragons seem like they're more for riding than warging.
03-15-2014 , 04:07 PM
You cannot tame a dragon.
03-15-2014 , 07:01 PM
Tell that to the original Targ dragon riders that Arya talked about to Tywin.
03-15-2014 , 07:26 PM
Maybe that wad mutually beneficial for them. New dragons who knows? Who rides them? Dany? Jora? Worm?

Maybe.

HODOR
03-15-2014 , 08:28 PM
Hodor seems ripe for a gimmick account

Last edited by LostOstrich; 03-15-2014 at 08:29 PM. Reason: could just post HODOR at random intervals, I'd love that

S1: Eddard Stark
S2: Attack on KL
S3: Red Wedding
S4: Hodor says something else

The biggest shock of all

"****ing acorn paste AGAIN? Oh, err, I mean, Hodor."
03-17-2014 , 07:56 AM
Yeah, like when Silent Bob speaks up in Clerks to give sage advice or to rail on Jay, I can picture Hodor turning to Jaime and saying "Ehem, this is what happens when you **** your sister, ashole!"

Don't listen to any of the commentaries involving writers on the bluray if you are interested in not knowing anything about the books for whatever reason. All of them are like "in the book this character is different, here's why.." quite often. The animated back history stuff is good, not as good as last year's dvd because it is a bit repetitive. I haven't finished the extras off yet. Def worth purchasing imo.

"My granddaughter Wertha? Wellra? Waldina?"
"My name's Mary"
"Fine"

WALDER FREY loool such a great scene
03-19-2014 , 04:01 AM
hmmmm, I don't think Edmure is dead. In ep10 - I'm watching right now - -Walder Frey says he "spent his wedding night in a dungeon."
03-19-2014 , 04:12 AM
man I completely forgot about a lot of the stuff from ep10. like Yara Greyjoy is bout to take some ships and go **** up the Bolton camp.

Not addressed to me but I think Dany is a great character and she's not been getting lucky much at all. She's used her intelligence and empathy to get her this far.
03-19-2014 , 04:28 AM
Oops I kept reading Bran as Bronn and thought you'd all gone mad or I'd seriously missed some stuff last season.
03-19-2014 , 05:24 AM
Tyrion/Bronn scenes from s3 were incredible

Need a spinoff just those two

Disclaimer: I've read the books in the break between season 3-4 so not going to spoil anything or debate this point, I'm genuinely curious what ur take is on this.
I'm only a casual viewer who's re-watching so as to get a clearer understanding, so I'm going to make some bad reads and misunderstand plenty. But the decision to allow the witch to do her thing in the tent, which resulted in drogo dying anyway and her being left powerless and alone in the desert until she produced the dragons, ought to have been a fatal mistake. Even once she had the dragons, she was reduced to wandering the desert and the remaining tribe were all set to starve, before she handled the negotiations outside Qarth pretty terribly but got lucky when one of the council vouched for her anyway. There's other stuff later that I haven't got round to on re-watch yet, I'm sure.

Banal poker analogy time: Dany comes across as a feel player who keeps getting it in bad but hitting the river!
