The Big Bang Theory finale was 10x better than this. Let that sink in.

The council scene really felt like a Monty Python sketch.

Except Monty Python is funny. The attempt at humor in that scene was cringeworthy and not at all appropriate.

It’s not that Bran becoming king is terrible per se, it’s the garbage reasoning. He should be king bc it would make a good story? Whut?

I’m proud of my boy Sam for cranking out those 300-level classes for the grandmaestership phd in about a week and a half. Coincidentally the same amount of time it took them to repopulate nuclear wasteland King’s Landing, rebuild the Small Council Chamber and the castle that surrounded it, rebuild all the ships, the docks, the Wall....damn those civil workers are efficient.

BBT finale was good and touching

No, it’s bad per se.

I am outraged that Benioff and Weiss aren’t going to get to make that series about what if the South has won the civil war. It would have been an all timer
05-20-2019 , 12:09 AM
Sam didn't do that. It's true then and it's true now - you need relationships.
05-20-2019 , 12:24 AM
For people confused as to why the Unsullied didn't kill Jon. The reasoning was that it would start a big battle with all the north and westeros troops vs the Dothraki and Unsullied. Neither side wanted that and they were just allies. No one wants that fight.

Not saying it's good writing, but that was the implication that i got.

I didn't hate this ending, some of the scenes for sure were god awful, but the overall conclusion, of everything going full circle from season one, and now the endless politics of times of peace and scheming return, but with all new faces, it's ham handed but i don't hate it for who is still there to go forward. Obviously could have been better done, but i'm not full of rage or anything. Maybe my expectations were reasonably low.

especially when 75% of them are dead

thank god it's over

I think most of my complaints were said by other people but I really don’t get how anybody could be satisfied by this season. It just really seemed like a lot of lazy writing.

Jumping from Drogon flying off to a super random assortment of people picking a king seemed especially lazy. And then the actions of everybody at that meeting made next to no sense.

Why is Greyworm persuaded that a bunch of people he doesn’t care about get to pick a new ruler that he will listen to in terms of getting justice for his Queen? It’s all baffling.

i'm kinda annoyed that with the hate directed at D&D, people will forget that GRRM is also terrible at writing stories that make sense.
05-20-2019 , 01:03 AM
lmfao. honestly the worst **** episode in tv history. All of it was **** trash. none of it makes sense. how could you butcher it so bad. Honestly im **** pissed! went from my favourite series to absolutely hating this ****. wasted too many hours of my life for that. just wow.

im sure elrazor will find a way to say it makes sense and a good ending.

I’m actually kind of annoyed by this whole thing because I started as a book reader but gave up after it was clear that GRRM didn’t actually give a **** about finishing the series.

Then after 4-5 seasons and hearing people rave about how good the show is I got caught up and figured this would at least give me an ending to the series. But... now I feel like they just sucked more money out of me while still not really caring about telling the story well.

bran the **** broken lmfaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. fk me. kill me
05-20-2019 , 01:08 AM

OK, the small council scene was like an SNL sketch instead.
05-20-2019 , 01:14 AM
are these **** writers thinking theyre being clever with constantly referring to past dialogue in previous seasons? It used to be subtle. But this season is just constant callbacks. Its cringe af

time to read /r/freefolk to get my memes to cheer me up/

I give episode 5 a 1/10 and this one a 6/10. Given all the stupidity of this season, it'd bbe hard for this episode to be worse than what followed and it wasn't ... barely.
05-20-2019 , 01:34 AM
So did Jon kill Dany to prevent future negative outcomes or due to what she did to king's landing?
05-20-2019 , 01:43 AM
grrm has a 10 year old's understanding of how politics works. an emperor beats a king and the pope beats an emperor.
05-20-2019 , 01:55 AM
sucked so hard.

only thing that could have saved it would have been arya pulling off johns face.

was kinda waiting for drogon to torch john only to find out he cant be burnt either, but meh, didn't expect much after the last ep
