Settle down

There's actually a ton of of credence to the Tyrion as secret Targ. He said he used to have dreams about dragons. Vis and Rhaegal don't barbeque him. His mother died in childbirth, which is a very common thing when delivering Targaryen babies. But I think at this point it needed to set up a bit more.

5.) Maybe that was the point of scene with Tyrion and Bran in Ep 2 which has had zero payoff so far.....or the showrunners could be idiots. Yea probably the latter.
These are fine points except for 1. The Astrolabe is meant to depict actual historical events. The new events are Viserion blasting down the Wall, the Red Wedding and the birth of Dany's dragons. Dany is represented by the largest dragon, as all the houses are represented by their sigils (for example, previously the astrolabe showed a lion and a wolf paying tribute to a stag, representing Robert's Rebellion.

You don’t understand story structure at all.

In the books Tyrion has a purple eye and strands of silver hair which is like a Westeros dna test.

In the show there's pretty much nothing to suggest hes a targ imo.

Yea, I'm sure I'm conflating evidence from the books and the show (e.g. Aerys' infatuation with Joanna, which I don't think is mentioned in the show) when I come up with a wish list of things I want to see happen.

1. He dreams of dragons.
2. Dany's dragons like him.
3. Tywin said, "You are no son of mine."
4. Tyrion's mother died in childbirth, which is common with Targaryen babies.
5. Vision of Rhaegar where he tells Dany, "The dragon has three heads." We know of two Targaryens so it suggests there's a third.

That's a lot more than nothing.

Otoh, I don't see how this credibly plays out over 2 episodes, and most probably only one episode.
I can see it. I can also see Arya killing Dany, which has also been foreshadowed (she tells Ed Sheeran that she's going to kill the Queen, not "I'm going to kill Cersei.)

I saw a decent theory that Dany is pregnant and Tyrion will make the same plead to her as he did with Cersei: Do it for your baby.

Dany and Jon having a baby was foreshadowed so often last season that there has to be something to it.

Also I have doubts that Cersei is really pregnant.

That's a bit of a stretch. In a world where there basically is no real high level medical science it's easy to die period. We saw a character easily die of infection..... Even a Maestar is no where near a modern day nurse.

I forgot to mention that everything else sounds interesting in that theory but that one peice, especially when you add in some of the book variables. With the book info you can see a picture being painted that Tyrion could be a Targ with the "Westoros DNA test" lol.

He doesnt have a purple eye

Out of pure coincidence i listened to this chapter last night, ones green and ones black

Ref the "Jon not sticking to his vows" argument... He did get killed and your watch ends with death? Surely that's a get out of jail free card?

To me this is thin enough to classify as "almost nothing"

Spoilering because book lore:

Spoiler:
During the Dance of the Dragons, which was a civil war within House Targaryen, one side were called the "Greens" and one side were called the "Blacks". The fact that Tyrion has one black and one green eye may be suggestive of a role in some new intra-Targaryen conflict. If that does turn out to be the deal, whether that would be Dany vs fAegon or Jon isn't clear.

That bet still available, Howard?

He was referring to Jon banging Ygritte before he was killed as the "not sticking to the vows".

I don't think anyone counts his leaving after he dies and is resurrected as a breach.
05-10-2019 , 08:45 AM
It's established several times that no banging is more of a guideline than a rule.
05-10-2019 , 08:58 AM
He was banging a wildling, that's a severe breach.

I agree. As I posted earlier the vow says not to have kids or have a wife, there is nothing there about banging per se.

I guess one could argue that by banging Ygritte, Jon was putting his vows in jeopardy. But I don't think he ever broke them.
05-10-2019 , 09:19 AM
He was ordered by Qorin(sp) Halfhand to basically go undercover. If that includes sexing a wildling then I think he can get a pass.

As far as vows go, it is definitely what elrazor said. Punishment for getting a prostitute is nonexistent, while deserting means death.

In a story with so much foreshadowing and prophecies and nonsense, I think it's quite a bit more than "almost nothing."

I mean I agree that the story is better with him actually being Tywin's son, and being the most like him, but Tywin was a stubborn arrogant prick who couldn't see that.

But Tyrion is a secret Targ was a pretty viable theory IMO until Viserion died.
05-10-2019 , 10:08 AM
It's definitely viable, like I said earlier, I think the point of that is that it has to be at least slightly plausible to Tywin. Having those seeds of doubt gives him license to tell himself that Tyrion isn't really his.
