This.

Thanks, thought they were different.. Read online today that it appears they used the same wig that Viserys wore in season one to create that scene...

Of course, but then there are several other locations that it would make sense too, due to them being less well defended and manned than Winterfell, but then seeing as they don't know where they are either, or which cities are well-defended and which are not, and where the key players are, or where the dragons are, and so on, and so forth....

the night king clearly has some sort of mind powers to find out that type of stuff

He also has some type of connection to Bran. Especially since he touched him Bran's vision.

I do not expect that the show is ever going to give us a coherent explanation of the night king's abilities or motivations. I'm setting my expectations very low in this respect.

I think the walkers are heading to the place of spiral thingy they keep making patterns of and showing us. Probably to defeat the children for creating them...

I never read any of the books. I recently saw a really plausible theory on the web on the reason for Tyrion's worried look in his last scene at John/Daernys door. It also explains an earlier mysterious plothole and makes the show more intriguing. It doesn't seem to be based on the book. I'll post it later if it's not a violation and if no one else posts it.

Fire away. All the Tyrion theories got shot down by the episode director, but you can continue to believe that they're lying if you want to tinfoil.

Earlier Cersei makes an unexplained turnabout when she suddenly announces she will support the North. What important thing did Tyrion tell her off screen? He told her that he would ensure that her newborn would be next in line to the throne should Danerys perish. Since he thought that Danerys would have no heirs it made sense at the time. Now that Daenerys is hooking up with John he is worried that she will become pregnant and put him in an awkward position of conflicting loyalty.
Seems like a good plot twist even if it's not what the show plans

OOOOOOOH check this out. The unded army marching south.

I'm not 100% sure that is what it looks like but it seems possible to me.

Makes some sense (certainly a lot more sense than any theory where Tyrion is actively helping Cersei) but it seems like it has practical problems. Dany is obviously never going to agree to that and how is Tyrion going to accomplish it without Dany's support?
09-01-2017 , 02:16 AM
Dany had told everyone she can't have children. Jon Snow suggested this might not be the case, but no reason to think Tyrion was in on this.

I doubt the writers even know what that look meant, but they just wanted to throw a thread in there they could pick up and run with in pretty much any direction. Or not, if they forget all about it.

I wasn't suggesting they need to use road anyways (although yes it makes sense to).

I was just pointing out that for the white walkers, leading the mass of undead, it would be pretty easy to find winter fell and other major establishments simply by following the road system.

I'm probably being way too cerebral suggesting that might not be the case for dead people, who probably don't suffer from blisters or lack of energy.

In addition, if everything is frozen then roads will be no different to rough terrain.

The army of the undead heading to Winterfell is pretty logical. I mean if they are just going to ignore populations in their strongholds what's the point. If their goal is to roll over everything Winterfell would be the stop #1
09-01-2017 , 12:14 PM
The dead have never been past the wall.

How do they know about Winterfell, or how to get there?

(fwiw I think they will head straight there in season 8, and all these types of questions will be hand-waived by the producers)

I think the Night King is hip to Westeros, dude. Seems to have Bran-like powers.
09-01-2017 , 01:15 PM
Perhaps, but then the NK didn't know where the Three Eyed Raven or the children were hanging out till Bran arsed things up, and even then he somehow missed the convenient back door escape route.
09-01-2017 , 01:32 PM
some of the wights were men who lived in westeros maybe they can let him know
09-01-2017 , 01:40 PM
Could they maybe be carrying a giant map to go along with the chains?
