Did we ever confirm the meaning of any part of Dany's vision from the House of the Undying? The throne room part seems like a prediction, and the Drogo part feels like a dream. Weird mix of inconsistency.

My interpretation of the Drogo part is that Dany will die. We also see her reach out towards the Iron Throne, but pull back before touching it, which seems to foreshadow that she will never quite sit on it. I can't come up with any scenario where Dany does not sit the throne, but also doesn't die, that makes any narrative sense. She's obsessed with sitting the throne. It would be a bizarre end to her story if she were suddenly like "actually, the whole ruling the Seven Kingdoms thing? Nah. Decided I don't really care". Then we have all the recent discussion about succession, etc.

I would have believed Dany was a lock to become ruler for pretty much the entire series till this last episode.

I still think it's most likely but now I can def. see Dany sacrificing herself or voluntarily stepping aside or something and it being Jon, or the whole monarchy idea collapsing and Tyrion becoming an elected type ruler or something.

Last sentence leads to the Sam revelation that Jon is not a bastard. He has the true claim, before Dany, but that all rests in Bran's hands. No idea why he didn't tell Arya yet. He clearly doesn't trust Sansa right now.

I think visions and prophecies in this show are supposed to be highly murky and not concrete.

We've seen a lot of them and they are often times off or contradictory to downright wrong.

Melisandre was pretty much say as much a few episodes ago.

Another random thing I thought of today that i hadn' before. If the undead dragon still breaths fire, he can pretty much destroy the wall at any point they want.

Re: Game of Thrones TV Thread - ***NO BOOKREADERS***

Is there any possibility that Tyrion is not a Lannister? Re-watching earlier seasons and I've noticed a few spots where Tywin seemed to imply there was doubt he was his father. I'm not sure if sure if that was just Tywin spewing hate towards him, or meant as a subtle nod toward him not being a Lannister.

I think there is no doubt at this point that Jon sits the Iron throne in the end. I think Dany likely dies or bends the knee when she learns Jon is the true heir. Maybe even an incestuous marriage to end it all if she lives.

This entire show has just been about the Night King's attempt to get laid.

Jamie. Then she kills Cersei, IMO.

its possible that tyrion is the son of king Aerys, but they haven't developed this idea very much

Plenty of clues to this on the show. Tywin literally saying "you're not my son" before he died, his general treatment of Tyrion throughout his life, and the dragons being cozy around him.

Oh there's plenty of hints that Tyrion might not be Tywin's son (you missed the clearest one, "Men’s laws give you the right to bear my name and display my colors since I cannot prove that you are not mine", Tywin S3E1). Whether that's a real possibility or wishful thinking on Tywin's part we don't know.

But there's nothing about the Aerys possibility in the show other than that Dany's dragons don't eat Tyrion. There's no way that would give rise to the theory if it wasn't for the other hints from the books. This is why the no bookreaders thing is kind of silly imo, even though I'm avoiding discussing certain things ITT now (for example, I deliberately didn't reply to antneye's post originally). The Tyrion theories are all over Game of Thrones media articles. Avoiding contact with the expanded universe involves not reading anything about Game of Thrones online ever.

1. Tyrion said he dreamed of dragons when he was a child.
2. AFAWK, the only people to touch a dragon (before this last episode and the rescue) and live are Dany, Jon and Tyrion.

She also chooses instead to turn towards her family, which might mean she sacrifices the throne for Jon Snow.

TBH think that sequence gets too much attention, more likely than not it's not predictive the way Cersei's fortune being told clearly was.

Tyrion's obviously fake bleached hair might be deliberately terrible to hint at him being not a Lannister!

Lol jk

Re: Game of Thrones TV Thread - ***NO BOOKREADERS***

Could Aria just be leveling LF into thinking he's succeeding before she whacks him?
SexySansa finding the Halloween masks was stupid.
Why couldn't the dragon just crash on land thus eliminating the chain idiocy all together ?
Why isn't the Olympic gold spear throwing NK not using his spears on people ?
I loved the dialogue with Tormand and the Hound. I wish it had gone on for 1/2 the episode.
