I'm so ashamed of myself, sir. Again, my apologies for not being awesome at TV.

what's even more amazing than all these people failing to get what, as pointed out earlier, was one of littlefinger's most iconic and defining moments in the show, is the level of sheer butthurt and self-pity displayed by those who didn't get it.

like, maybe get better at watching tv, and grow up a bit...yea? nobody thinks you're uncool, we just think you're a bit slow, that's all.

you'd get a pass if it wasn't such a defining character moment that foreshadowed literally everything that was yet to come, but that line is easily a top 5 most significant utterances in the entirety of the series. dimwittedness is the only excuse for failing to understand.

building from that scene, there was one thing i didn't really put together- that girl said that bran died in hodor's final scene, did she mean that figuratively or literally since bran was warged into hodor's mind at the time?

"Chaos is a ladder" scene was arguably the GOAT GOT dialogue, if you consider yourself a fan and missed this reference last ep then lol you're no true fan.

Been thinking if there have been any scenes more meaningful than chaos is a ladder in the entire series and can't come up with anything. Maybe Cersei saying when you play the game of thrones you win or you die but its close.

Figuratively. She meant that the person that Bran had been died when he became the Three Eyed Raven - same thing that Bran said about how he can remember what it's like to be Bran, but also remembers so much more.

Holy **** there are some pompous mother****ers taking it REALLY personally and getting seriously rustled that not everyone takes their favorite TV show as seriously as they do! Relax guys, it'll be ok.
08-07-2017 , 07:27 PM
stop projecting dude, you are clearly taking it super personally and are in fact so rustled that you've made numerous whiny posts about it

I thought he also said it Sansa this season.

you're the only one whining about it tho! the rest of us are just laughing at you

look, it's clear that some people itt might be Mad. and still others might have their Jimmies Rustled. the most important thing now is that we drop everything else and figure out once and for all who is Mad and who isn't.

I mean dudes could just accept that they're not big fans of GoT, but saying they are and admitting they don't remember LFs epic monologue almost necessarily means they're a simpleton of some kind and/or are pretending they like GoT on 2+2.
08-07-2017 , 08:10 PM
People pay attention to things, including TV shows, to varying degrees of detail and that's perfectly ok.

Turning back to the show itself, I thought the dragon battle scene was overall excellent. Really showed how badly a ground army out in the open like that would be completely boned against dragons.
08-07-2017 , 08:35 PM
I didn't watch seasons 1-3 with subtitles the first time and I was surprised when I did turn them on during rewatch how much I had misunderstood because I have bad hearing/weird English "middle earth accent" I now consider subtitles essential for full GoT enjoyment

Well spotted. I also thought about Bronn because he has a castle to get and dead Jaime means no castle. Show has pretty much underlined that.

What upsets me is that, they only had 1 huge crossbow, why not have multiples and also why don't run to it as soon as dragon is spotted, why wait till it has burned half your armies?
They might have more in King's Landing, and it was made rather sure that those aren't made like chinaware (100 in a day or so). But what upset me was that Jaime just brought it up when all hell was already at loose, not when Drogon first showed up.

I think Jaime's gonna survive. Chaos is a ladder is most memorable line from Littlefinger in the show, even more so than in the books (much like Lannister pays their debts for Lannisters, although no official motto for LF either) so if you didn't notice it but understood the words you're no true fan or even follower of GoT

Superb episode, although short one. Watched 1st time last week, but much better with subtitles + HD.

I know this is the non bookreader thread, but I feel like people will be amused at the epic fail of this attempt to play Truest GoT Fan, so I'm going to point out that this line does not appear at all in the books. That whole scene between Varys and Littlefinger was invented for the show.

+1 to Chaos is a Ladder being most memorable line from the show and being super clear from Bran's mouth

i'm not whining

i'm not mad

i'm not butthurt

i simply didn't hear the words that came out of bran's mouth clearly on first play

The hackers have released some more stuff now, but not the scripts afaik. I can't imagine avoiding spoilers for three weeks if they do.
