not sure she could have realistically taken all that food back to dragonstone without getting ambushed / counter attacked. she may have intended to deprive KL of it (which also subtracts from the, uh, humanitarian aspect of not burning the city with dragons).

Did all the dragons attack? People keep saying dragons but I did not see the other two. Looking forward to watching the replay.

Possibly Jaime's greatest moment, and he's had a lot of great ones.. It was a great effort. Would have been a great death

Does anyone still think Littlefinger is going to come out on top of the situation at Winterfell?

Arya-Brienne duel was a great scene.

Also give me a break with the "behind the episode" thing where the show creator said it was a cool scene because you had a main character try to murder another main character and that doesn't happen very often.

1. On this show, yes it does. It happens all the time, actually.
2. That wouldn't have been murder. It's a ****ing battle.

i am really hoping (expecting) that he has at least one more crazy plot up his sleeve and that it takes real gusto from the starks to catch him in the act. if he just goes out whimpering i feel like that would be a bit of a waste.

i suppose it's also possible that he somehow scatters the starks again or manages to turn them on each other, but it seems like they all are really, really clear on the fact that he can't be trusted so i don't know how that would happen.

CGI stepped up this episode.

I assume it must have been some sort of supplies, couldn't be the gold since we were told that was all safely to KL. That said, not sure how much good the gold is going to do Cersei now, if I were the Iron Bank I'd be rethinking my investment in Cersei given she just lost most (all?) of her army and we've now seen the awesome power of dragons.
The Dothraki see her as a God/Messiah or something at this point. She's not just your standard Khal who commands bc he/she is the best warrior. They saw her literally rise from the ashes with dragon babies

Chaos is a ladder..... Great line directed at Littlefinger.

Amazing episode!

I think it would be really difficult for LF to pull shenanigans when Bran knows everything.

seems like the Lannisters should have used their archers on the Dothraki right away - would have attacked their weakness of being a light nimble army but without any armor, but they weren't really prepared for what was coming anyway.
08-06-2017 , 11:15 PM
Minor nitpick - arya blocking brienne's two handing swings with that massive broadsword one handed with her little needle seemed...unlikely. That said it was still a cool scene.

Also given what happened the last time they met, it seemed like neither gave it enough significance

i think the bigger barrier is that there's not really anyone left to manipulate. bran has said he only sees fragments and hasn't put it all together yet. i think we are getting to the point where he COULD plausibly show up knowing anything from the GoT universe (which is actually a bit annoying as a plot device if used poorly), but it doesn't guarantee he will. also he is clearly not the most reliable in terms of what he chooses to tell people, either because it's part of some grand plot or because being the T.E.R gave him assburgers, or both.

didn't Stannis correct Davos on fewer vs less earlier and now Davos does it to Jon?

I missed some of that dialogue, apparently. Makes no sense to me that Jaime, Bronn and Tarly would be hanging back with the "stragglers" while they let the gold go on ahead of them.(?!) Is that really what they said? I have to rewatch.

EDIT: We see Jaime pull out some gold for Bronn from a wagon full of gold......

Burning the grains makes no god damn sense, especially considering Dany even said how ****ed they were without it just minutes earlier in the episode. I guess it looked cool though.

Liked the episode I genuinely thought Jaime was a goner. Hopefully next episode we get a Tyrion and Bron reunion scene. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
I was totally prepared for Jaime to go out in a ball of dragon fire. Throughout that battle I was legit fearing for Bronn's life.

Arya vs Brienne was really cool. Arya is quite the boss now. The writers may have really botched her story in Braavos but I am just gonna let all that go and enjoy the ride now that she is a super ninja.

Littlefinger just hanging around waiting to get got is driving me crazy this season. Guy was such a player now wtf is he doing?

Fewer/less was quite the Easter egg for hardcore fans.

When Jon was showing Dany the cave with all the carvings that convinced her to join him I wanted there to be a cut to "6 hours earlier..." showing Jon in there making all those carvings himself. lol

Bronn scene with the giant bow was precisely what I had feared would happen with that damn thing...a pot shot from 200 yards at a dipping, diving, flying, fire-breathing target. GMAFB I hated everything about it other than the bolt being bothersome as opposed to deadly. It's cliche and predictable writing, see below for more.

At this point I've given up on the show reaching the epic levels it had reached prior to this season when the show still stuck to what was written.

TBH this would have been an epic way for Jamie to die and totally unexpected...so, in other words, exactly how it should have gone down in GoT. Unfortunately we've deviated from the source material and now have ****tier creative forces pulling out cliche cliff hangers that aren't even close to cliff hangers.

You think Lannisters counter-attack for stolen grain after being scorch-earthed by Drogon and the screaming horde? LOL unlikely.

FYP, but no his best scene was with Brienne in the hot tub when he divulged what went down with the Mad King.

A+ catch, didn't notice it when watching.

Fewer/less was great.

The issue with Bran is that he isn't really a stark any longer and he seems like he would act in the interests of the realm, not his family. Littlefinger prying him for information was interesting.

Terrific episode. Crossbow should have totally failed. Jaime maybe captured?

They mention they were gathering crops after taking Highgarden. So just assume they took the dothraki there in ships in ~2-3 weeks. It's fine.

top 3 episode easily? holy **** just A+ stuff

cant remember a mediocre scene

I'm liking how Davos is nudging Jon to a solution to his bending the knee problem with Dany.

Dany needs a consort, Jon needs a Queen, two birds – one stone. Dany would get to be Queen in the North and the North would be OK with it

Did the other two dragons fly north to deal with the army of the dead?
