Why was Thoros of Myr sent to Westeros by the Lord of Light?

I missed why Thoros was sent to Westeros. I thought he just became a priest from his upbringing and later grew into a state of disbelief and following the miracles he was able to perform on Beric that his faith returned. Sounds like I missed something.

I bolded the ones you got right. The first one is pretty tricky, it's mentioned like once very much in passing in season one.

Mormont is Lord Commander, not the Maester. Though it was a good guess of course and I think you just mistook the titles is all. Small hint, Samwell is sent to work with him as his duties given he can read/write.

Btw Montel Jordan is the slave guy (I don't remember his name ) in case people forgot that joke from last thread/didn't know it lol.

Another small hint for where Ned gets snipped.....They later mention it saying that "blank feels we've disrespected *snipped area* by lying about our intentions with Ned Stark". Not a verbatim line but the basic jist of it.
